Of course the places counting Electoral Votes have not averaged
The result oif this polls into their calculations which would result in Kerry being in the lead in FLorida in the average of polls.

4. I still wonder if there's a "panhandle effect."
It's Machiavellian to consider, but I wonder if many displaced people in the west of the state will abstain due to their circumstances. This would probably do the GOP no favors.

7. I voted for Kerry today in Pensacola
Even got to meet Wes Clark, who was at the courthouse steps speaking to early voters. Check out www.panhandleforkerry.com We've got an energized base, but there will be a loyalty-oath rally with Cheney in town soon. Probably at least 40-50% of the people lined up to vote had KE pins on. There were some repugs outside the court, but the KE supporters outnumbered them probably 2-1. In this fundy hyperconservative area, it looks encouraging.

5. Remember, Jeb Bush Hasn't been Picking His Nose since 2000
I would imagine the fix is in. That's why Bush doesn't seem to be going ballistic. (I know Bush is not "normal" but I think Jeb is up to no good.)

8. I Live In Fl And Did Post Grad Work At FSU
Those internals are spot on...

For a Dem to win statewide he has to run strong in the southern part of the state and be competitive in the central part because northern Florida with the exception of Tallahassee is very conservative....

I expect Castor to run a bit better than Kerry as Nelson ran a bit better than Gore...

10. Perhaps. However, many of the diehard panhandle voters
were also civil servants. And they are losing their jobs quicker than new private jobs can be produced.
