Clinton lost afterschool programs under Bush
I have a Right wing wack job here in my lab who is accusing Clinton about making up lies about many thousands of kids losing their after school programs due to George Jr.'s policies.

He thinks this is "the big lie" and wants SPECIFICS about which programs have been lost, where and what are those programs, and what specific policies of George Jr. caused these kids to lose their after-school programs.

He says Clinton says it very quickly so that nobody will question him.

Can anyone help me provide specifics?

david

1. I'm not up on the after school issue
but bush has held back Title I funding. This is a necessity for schools in low income areas. At my school, we now get 66% less in Title I funding than we got under Clinton. It is a myth to brag about bush increasing education spending, because more of that money is staying in D.C. and less is trickling down to the schools. So they may be budgeting more money, but the kids are getting less.

I will look for info on this after school issue.

2. Tell him it doesnt matter
Tell him even if it is not true it doesn't matter..
Bush has lied about things so big they started a war over it, Clinton can tell a misleader ..

Bush tried to cut afterschool programs and the congress sent it back and said.. nope.. but he will try again.

if someone knows more let them speak.

Tell him thats ok..we have a rock start and we are using him..
If bush can lie for four years and get away with it we can mislead for a week.

3. Of course, of course, for a rational person that would work,
but this guy is a ditto-head x 100,000. Actually even nailing him with FACTS or words out of George Jr.'s mouth won't always do the job. For example, he's one of those 72% who believe that Saddam did have WMDs before the invasion and he sent them all off to Syria while the inspectors were there.

The dude is nutz.

5. by not fully funding no child left behind mandates, schools forced to use
dollars set aside for after school programs for Bush testing rather than learning program.

7. I've never heard the Bush campaign dispute it
I think Kerry brought it up in the last debate, Bush didn't dispute it.
