Clinton/Kerry appearance in Philly. (Warning: Really Large Images)

Sorry the snaps are so big but that's how this hosting site makes them. I would have had more but the lighting for TV and stuff interfered with the camera so I couldn't really get any good ones of the President and the President to-be while speaking. It was a massive turnout, over 100K as you can see by the crowd shots. We're going to kill the Pukes next week.

23. Thanks MrSlayer from an East Coast exile in Utah
42 years away from Gloucester city, New Jersey, and the number 41 bus into Philadelphia, it seemed such a short ride, right onto Market Street -- and even after all those years it still makes me cry in loneliness for the people, the weather, the eclectic neighborhoods. And to see John Kerry and Bill Clinton there! And the crowds! What a joy it would be for just a few minutes to be part of all that!

Thanks MrSlayer. I've printed the photos, will moon over them for a few days.

7. Yeah it was great.
Got to shake with Senator Kerry too. He was really working the crowd afterward, he didn't want to leave and the SS had to hustle him away.

6. Wow, those are great
What is the crowd estimate. Someone said CNN reporting 100K - 120K. If it's CNN then I'm sure it's underestimated.

18. Who is the really scary looking guy
keeping JK from getting pulled into the crowd? Secret Service? He kind of reminds me of Kevin Costner in 'The Bodyguard'.

Richard Ray - Jackson Hole, WY

22. Yeah he's a rather stern looking fellow.
He also has the wonderful job of making sure no one yanks Kerry into the crowd and also that the Senator doesn't accidentally fall on his own when leaning in. He does this by sticking his hands down the back of Kerry's pants and gripping. He is so good at it that when viewed from the front you never really notice it happening. I would probably look a bit salty with that job myself.

19. This stuff has gotta give the SS nightmares
How can you guarantee JK's and Dawg's safety in that environment? You can't. It scares the shit out of me, but at the same time, I don't like Bushesque screened crowds, either. Stay safe, John (and John) and Bill!

Great pics, BTW.

24. Well you had to go through metal detectors and a U.S. Marshal search.
To get into the "Red Zone" and "Blue Zone" which are about the front 30,000 or so people. All electronics have to be proved as to their function, you have to walk through a metal detector plus get a wand sweep and pat down by the Marshals who really aren't people to be fucked with. Then there are the snipers and spotters on all the surrounding rooftops. Basically, it would have be an inside job to get close enough for an assassination. Someone theoretically could have hit one of them with a crutch or punched them or something but they would get such a beat down that one would have to be suicidal to try something like that.
