HUGE turnout for Kerry in Warren, MI tonight folks!!!
I just got off the phone with PassingFair (I ended up not being able to make it) and the auditorium is filled to overflowing. It seats @ 5000....and there were tons more waiting outside. Bon Jovi is on right now...and she held up the phone so I could hear. She's going to call back when Kerry comes on. What a wonderful friend she is. Just posting so you all know it's another standing room only crowd for Kerry here in the swing county of Macomb!!!!

4. a friend just called
and said it was poorly planned because waaayyy more people are
showing up than can possibly get into the venue.
it seems stupid since he's been drawing crowds of 20,000+
for months, not to have a large enough space.
It was a beautiful afternoon, and I'm sure lots of
folks came out and will be disappointed.

7. She got there at 4 when the doors opened. They finally got in around
6ish, and they had to close the doors 50 people after them. I think they should have planned Freedom Hill. :hi:

3. Turnout for Kerry or Bon Jovi?!
Either way...there are a lot of Bon Jovi fans in Macomb County, I would imagine. It can only be good for Kerry to have his support.

Rock 'n' Roll!!!!

18. It was definitely for Kerry not B.Jovi
I went to a Gore rally in Warren in 2000 and Bon Jovi was there.

The crowd was no where near these numbers and in fact you could walk right up to the platform in front of where BJ was--

Don't get me wrong, Bon Jovi still has a large following in Macomb County... but not enough to draw that kind of crowd at the last minute amongst people who don't even know he's appearing somewhere!

This is good news.

8. I would assume that Michigan is in the bag for Kerry
I'm not understanding a few of these polls lately because I do not believe that Bush has any chance in Michigan.

11. FWIW, a friend of mine's daughter works as an advance for Gov Granholm.
She is on loan to the campaign for the duration. She has said that Kerry has slipped a few and they are not sure exactly why. My county, Macomb, is split down the middle with a lot of Reagan Democrats. There's your reason. Assume nothing and expect anything. :hi:

20. I am actually sort of nervous about MI
It's VERY important for each and every person to get their asses to the polls on Tuesday--I am still seeing a ton of Bush signs in areas like Livonia and some of the north western Detroit burbs.

13. Rally
I don't understand what's the point of rallies if most of the people going are the party faithful anyway. Kerry does not need to waste his time on me. He just needs to have some good lines for the media to pick up.

14. Ummm...perhaps to motivate people to get out there and campaign? Also no
restrictions on who can show up, so undecideds would also come into play. Cheer up.

19. several reasons
1. motivation and excitment for the base
2. undecideds get to see and hear Kerry
3. attract new volunteers
4. attract media coverage
