George Soros... I wasn't going to post this ...but.. what the hell.
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 06:53 PM by Radicalliberal
This is rather lame but I'm in a bird-brain mood.

Look, George Soros wants Kerry for president just as much as we do. Even his web site states that fact.:

The other morning I heard George (soros) say in an interview "I would be happy just having one billion and not the 17 billion I have..." Fine..

Here's my proposal>> I want George Soros to state:
"If John Kerry is elected President of the United States I'm going to give every "Head-of-household" in the United States $100.00. I am NOT advocating or trying to change the way any person would or will vote, I'm simply stating what I plan to do." ON EDIT:

Yes..I understand all the ramifacations of this ...both moral and legal..but...FUCK!..This is George W Bush we're talking about. :)

2. Cable Opinion would go apeshit.
There are just too many ways this could be misunderstood, misrepresented or misconstrued.

3. Im against this

This is vote buying and is a perversion of our Democracy. Soros could do a lot by getting a news channel.

5. Indeed. Too "Bushy" for my tastes
Bush bought votes last time with that tax rebate shit.

We don't need to do that.

6. it's illegal
anyone would interpret that as vote bribing... Besides, it would be the dumbest thing he could do and work against Kerry.

10. Well.. Keep in mind that this is a Fantasy...Having said that...
..Since I believe that the average American is sleazy and selfish anyway, I also believe that their greed would cause them to pick "Door number one" (100 Bucks)

7. baaad idea
buying votes is illegal and that is exactly how it would be construed. Soros is already portrayed as the antichrist by the RW; they would love this as they could hype it to the max as the ultimate Democratic corruption.

8. bad idea.
your hearts in the right place, but that would be vote-buying, and just as bad as Bush's tax rebate in order to garner support.

It's a return to the days of the Daly (sp?) Democratic Machine in Chicago (Hey, study history, it's not just the other side that has corruption in its history).

13. Moore was vilified for giving out underwear and snacks
to slackers if they just went out to vote on election day, I am sure Soros would be roasted on a spit if he were to say that.

14. You Posters (so far) have a MUCH higher opinion of the...
..American populace than I do.

I think that when the public got inside the voting booth, they would say to themselves "Ah, what the hell..they'll be more elections and I DO like that tool set down at Sears" And better yet...Nobody will know!.....

16. I'd be happy if he could supply fool and theft proof voting machines
for our country. Certified by citizens we can trust in.

Maybe we need sequentially numbered paper ballots only. With a new law that the original and it's copy which is given to the voter is subject to serious penalities and jail time if tampered with and in the case of the ballot keepers, a triple penalty if lost or damaged in any way. With a system that allows each voter to verify that their ballot was counted the way they wanted it. All certified and maintained by people who could be trusted.

Back to basics and the ethics of little people and those who hold their vote in high regard and who trust in other's trust.

18. A comedian had a much better idea
I think the comedian who said Teresa could end it all by saying:

"All right people, if my husband doesn't win - I take away all the ketchup!"
:7

And I know, I know - she doesn't really own, run or have any influence on Heinz corp, but I think it's funny since I know some folks who'd freak out w/o their Heinz ketchup!
