Air America Radio has saved the party and the election !
Before AAR, non-political junkies would not know the truth. Now, everyone with basic computer knowledge and/or XM/Sirius/an affiliate can access the truth. Most people can't/won't devote the energy needed for research. I am truly grateful.

1. Me too
I love AAR.

I also think Michael Moore deserves credit. His movie has caused a lot of folks to wake up. I am amazed at the number of people I know who have seen it in just the last couple weeks and are absolutely irate at *.

3. anecdotal report from Phoenix
I own a small biz and asked one of my young customers (20something) if he was planning on voting next week.

"Hell yeah, and all my buds are too" and who for? i ask

"Kerry all the way, that Bush dude is messed up"

later in the day I had to stop by Costco and as i got out of the truck (and turned off Big Eddie on local AM radio) a man (late 40's) got in his truck next to me and when he started his truck, out comes Big Eddie's voice! I looked into his truck, smiled at him and said "Isn't Eddie Schulz the best?" he smiled back and says "I love the new liberal line up, so glad somebody has it here in Phoenix"

:bounce:

23. You got me hooked, grrl. I listen to Ed on the way home from
work.

"Unfiltered" on the way in (I love the "Unfiltered News" and "Singing the News"), Al Franken at work (so I don't have to listen to my coworker burping, snorting, and sighing all day), and Ed on the way home!

Then Randi if I get a chance.

In PHOENIX, folks--you don't have any idea what it means to have this in PHOENIX.

4. Hooray for Al Franken!
I listen to Al every day, and you're right -- I wouldn't know what the crazy wingnuts were saying if it weren't for him. Today was a particularly painful episode, as Mark Luther praised Rush Limbaugh for making up an exceptionally grotesque lie that Kerry thinks troops dying under the U.S. flag have no honor. I just couldn't listen to that crap all day, but should one of my conservative friends bring it up, I'll now know what to say to him:

"You still listen to that drug addict? Kerry said that it wasn't worth going into the Balkans if we weren't going to do it with allies because we'd need them to get the job done. We didn't lose a single American life during Kosovo, when we went in with NATO, while Bush is responsible for over 1000 dead soldiers for rushing to war without them. Not only is your guy a drug addict, but he's lying to you. Maybe it's time you switched radio stations."

Thanks so much, Al, for all you do, and to all the Air America folks. We're stronger as a party and a country because of it! Keep it up!

5. AAR states vs. nonAAR states
I think AAR radio may be swinging a lot of states to Kerry. We have no AAR radio here in Missouri and it shows (* up by five).

6. Agreed.
AAR shouldn't just be in the Blue States. If they were also in the Red States, it would more heavily influence the exposure of Repbulican lies.

I wish we had AAR in Texas. There is fertile ground here.

17. People who have cable can watch Al Franken on Sundance from
10:30- 11:30. I just watched the show, it was great. The president of America Votes was on detailing GOP voter fraud.

24. It's offered free on cables that have 60+ basic channels, I believe.
It's worth pushing for, and Franken is the LEAST of the reasons why.

Excellent programs.

7. What's their viewership? Not much, I'd wager
The internet is a far more powerful tool. Message boards, blogs, news from dozens of sources instantly.

8. I'm not so sure about saving the party and the election,
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 07:15 PM by Stevie D
But it clearly helped. Air America is on a Clear Channel station where I live, so a lot of regular working people here can listen while they work on the radio.

I hope they can expand their on-air presence throughout the country. While there are a lot more XM/Sirius people and reportedly two million on-line listeners, nothing gets through to the masses like radio.

It has improved my quality of life, that's for sure. I'm grateful, too.

edited for clarity

19. Me Too!

AAR & DU changed my mood, I am so thankful for both. I found DU by accident on a BOLT political board. Someone had a link to a discussion here. I think AAr needs to be advertised, I have yet to run into anyone who knows you can listen on the computer. I'm going to a meet up tomorrow night & I have made up fliers about AAr & Du for fellow libs who need to know they are not alone. Thanks to all of you!
