Dr. Wang Says Kerry's A 3-1 Favorite... |
|
Who's Dr. Wang?
A professor at Princeton who reduces this race to a science...
maybe a smarter DUer than me can link his site...
I don't have the squiggly lines....
How do you get them?

5. Yes, it is a good site. Even more so, because his message is |
|
that the polls and his predictions are "Plan B" in his words and that Plan A is to get out the vote, wherever/whoever you are! In part he's inspired me to head to OH to help out.
Kerry On!!

12. How to include a link |
|
:-) Open a window with the site you want to link to. Move your mouse to the address line and right click. Click copy. Then move your mouse to the DU post that you are creating. Right click your mouse-again-and click paste. Voila...you have posted a link.

7. GIGO? Could be, but less so than electoral-vote.com which uses |
|
only 1 poll, the latest. At least Prof. Wang averages in a few over a period of time to take out the wild fluctuations.

9. Because The Fella At Electoral-Vote.Com Has A Bunch Of Numbers In Search |
|
Of A Theory...
To call Hawaii for Bush based on the available data would get you a big F in any introductory political science research course...
If my poll shows Bush getting 80% of the African American vote I am going to go back into the field and investigate further...

8. You Either Include Them All Or You Don't |
|
If your contention that all public research data is garbage then we might as well remove psychology, sociology, and political science from the college curriculum..

13. Don't underestimate this guy's capabilities, even with faulty polls |
|
He has a way of using the faulty polls one way to balance faulty polls the other way. This is rocket science, and the good news is that this guy IS a rocket scientist (yes, however, I will admit that rockets still do, from time to time, blow up).

10. That should be a 1/3 favorite |
|
Just as an odds-on favorite in horse racing is 2/5, not 5/2.
Wang apparently thinks Kerry has 3 chances to win among 4, based on his numbers. Bush remains a man-to-man 2/3 favorite in real world betting odds. My Excel numbers have Kerry with a 55% likelihood. Take your pick or make your own.
