Here is one way we could combat this fear mongering. How about an ad that quotes former Great Presidents and how they deplored FEAR and believed FEAR is for SMALL MINDS!

Here is my ad idea:

First a narrator comes on and says "Halloween is coming and someone wants you to be AFRAID" Then it cuts to Bush's face in Black and White looking scary and him saying the word "FEAR" over and over and over then the ad cuts away from Bush as the narrator comes on and says something like "Don't let them scare you, don't let fear cloud your vision. The greatest minds both past and present never lead by using fear, they lead with HOPE and VISION and DETERMINATION!

Then cut to Franklin Roosevelt saying:

“We have nothing to fear but fear it’s self!”

Then come on with John Kerry looking positive, proud and confidant saying something in one of his speeches about hope and the rising sun or something of that nature. Then finish the add by cutting back to Bush's face and it jumping at you saying "BOO!!"

Does anyone have any other great presidential quotes about Fear?

Here is one of my favorates but it's not by a President:

"Fear is the main source of superstition, and one of the main sources of cruelty. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom." Bertrand Russell

Dosent the superstition and cruelty part remind you of someone???

1. Good, but
FDR said that fear thing at his 1932 inauguration, 9 years before Pearl Harbor.

3. What about quotes from * himself?
All that stuff after 9/11 about how we should go shopping, visit our favorite destination spots.

Then there was the stuff about how there was a threat against the Citibank building but everyone should go there anyway. (Or was that Tom Ridge?)
