Is there any truth at all to this and should we still apply as much pressure as possible?

Is Sinclair Still Preparing to Run Stolen Honor in Its Entirety? NewsMax Says "Yes"

Posted on 10/23/2004 1:27:15 PM PDT by jmstein7

I just want to share the odd phone call I just received.

Apparently, NewsMax working with Sinclair to go ahead and air ALL of Stolen Honor next week. My source is reliable, and the source has advised me that NewsMax will be using a telemarketing service (do not call compliant) to raise funds and work with Sinclair to run it.

Has anybody else heard about this? Has anyone been solicited by anyone connected with NewsMax about this yet?

Yes, I received a call from them this past week asking for a donation of $30.00 to help pay for airing it.

Since I "thought" Sinclair was already doing that, I didn't give. Too bad they didn't advertise their campaign better, it would have come across better. I really was afraid someone was just scamming and didn't join in.

I got an email from the stolen honor site and was lead to the newsmax effort to help air stolen honor. They were asking for donations to make it happen. Check out the link.

My guess is that NewsMax wants to buy time to air it. They are known to become "active" when we are in a pinch.

For example, NewsMax purchased and ran very effective ads in national papers (and purchased some air time in local markets) during the 2000 election debacle.

This is a plausible scenario. When the chips are down, NewsMax often actually takes action. But, it's a rarity.

2. I wouldn't worry about it.
They are desperately grasping at straws.
