Tom DeLay is losing it. Runs attack ad against Morrison.
The 20 year incumbent is beginning to run attack ads against his opponent Richard Morrison. Couple that with: a $500,000 donation for ads about DeLay, opening 2 campaign headquarters, and debating for the first time in 20 years, means that DeLay must be worried.

Why else would a 20 year incumbent in a safe district be running scared?

This is some strange stuff folks.

21. It's Grover Norquist's ultra-libertarian
...corporation whoring think-tank. Club for Growth's agenda is, in a nutshell, to destroy the New Deal and anything connected with government other than the military and basic infrastructure. They seem to believe that the wealthy must be allowed to rule unfettered by basic rules of fair play and decency. Only then will we truly be free.

6. I haven't seen recent polls...
... but it has to mean that DeLay's people are doing internal polls which suggest he's slipping. So, he's trying to short-circuit Morrison's gains. Pump up the base, etc.

A while back, someone in the district said that the number of disgruntled Enron employees working against DeLay was much larger than one might imagine.

DeLay is used to winning by 2-1 margins, and the poll I saw from late in July put Morrison down by only 9 points. If Morrison's gained any in the intervening time, it means DeLay's nervous.

Good. I hope he's really nervous.

8. Did the 500K come from Bob Perry?
The TX developer sleaze bag that funded the swift boat liars?

John that is $500K going to DeLay's campaign for these attack ads against Morrison. Or do you mean that our side got $500K to run those ads against DeLay?

Sonia

Not bad, but not nearly close enough for comfort. I'm going to throw some turkee his way.

14. Wow... Go Morrison!!
If Morrison can exterminate the Bug Man and Bryan Kennedy can deflate "Puffy Jim" Sensenbrenner here in Wisconsin, Nov. 2 will be a glorious day indeed!

(Hey, can anyone get a Morrison campaign button for a former Houstoner? PM me...)

26. Fjetland is also helping...
DeLay is also having votes taken away by Michael Fjetland, an independent who was a Republican and knows first hand what tricks DeLay uses (he tried to keep Michael off the primary ballot last time around using any and all means.)

I met Michael while I was contracting in Houston and we share a common bond as independents running for office against incumbent Republicans. Just thought I'd drop by to let you all know that Michael is out there working hard to take votes from DeLay and bring about his defeat.
