COMEBACK!!!

Oct. 26, 2004 | PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Four years after Al Gore left him sitting on the sidelines and seven weeks after heart troubles left him thinking that his life -- never mind his political life -- might be over, Bill Clinton was back Monday doing what Bill Clinton does best.

The former president and the man who would be the next one appeared together Monday at an outdoor rally estimated at more than 100,000 strong -- so big that it spilled out of Love Park and into the streets of Philadelphia's Center City. Although Clinton was subdued in speech, he was effervescent onstage. As his own campaign theme song blared over the loudspeakers -- will Fleetwood Mac always give Democrats the chills? -- Clinton hugged old friends, laughed that big laugh of his, and looked like there was no place in the world he'd rather be. "If this isn't good for my heart, I don't know what is," he said.

With exactly one week to go in the presidential race, Clinton will have plenty of opportunities to take the cure. He will campaign in Florida Tuesday before heading west to New Mexico and Nevada at the end of the week. He'll make those stops without Kerry. The candidate campaigned Monday night in Michigan and Wisconsin and will travel next to Nevada, New Mexico, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio and then Wisconsin again before returning for his 26th visit to Florida on Friday.

1. yeah
I teared up watching him today. It was great to see him back. I look forward to observing the rest of his career - America hasn't had a leader like him in a very long time.

5. Come BACK!
Whatever my issues with Bill Clinton on matters of policy, I always loved the man for one simple reason: no matter what the Republicans did, no matter what they tried to nail him with, he ALWAYS WON. And goddammit, I had been waiting my whole life, ever since I saw how Reagan treated Carter, to see a Democrat stick it back to 'em twice as hard.

Bubba was good enough for me for damn sure!

7. He always won because he fought back hard
and he did it with a smile on his face.

It must grate the freepers so much that he is so loved.

I snagged it and put it up with very little comment.

The Comeback Kid is back in town! :)

The image of forty-two and forty-four is that of two two-termers in the making.

13. Anyone willing to brave the freeper swamp
to tell us what they're thinking about Clinton getting involved? Is this going to motivate the freeptards more than us?

14. You think The Net is a good place to gauge reality?
I don't think so.

Talk to normal people. See how the rage is coming to a boil.

We'll win come Nov 2 - regardless of what a bunch of flatliners with a basal command of oneliners may type on some virtual asylum.

See, that's the b*tch of being a defender of the indefensible: in the end, there are just too many fekked over people to ignore.

They'll be squashed on Nov 2 and I'll be fricken dancing in the streets.

Revenge. Cold. Sweet.

15. Bill Clinton always makes me smile!
I watched news coverage of Clinton in Philly & realized I had a big grin on my face.

He has to be the most optimistic person in politics, & it is just contagious.
