Damage already done in the explosives story
and no amount of spin over an embed report is going to change the facts.

We've hurt Bush on the security issue and they damn well know it which is why they reached on this phony NBC report. It's too late to change the fact that 380 tons of Semtex went missing and our guys are getting killed by explosives daily.

This propogandistic technique about a phony report will not work. It'll be done before the day is over.

1. There is no phony NBC report
Drudge & CNN are LYING about the REAL NBC report.

But I agree, it's out there now, and all other stations ARE reporting that the HE WAS THERE INTACT and BUSH did not order that site or 10,000 munitions sites (or the damn nuclear facilities, even!) secured.

And it's out there that this stuff is KILLING and WOUNDING our troops.

Those WITH any intelligence will know bush IS a lying war criminal POS from all that's FINALLY being reported on in the US State media.

And those who still support the lying war criminal POS see him as the 2nd coming and they'll support him & his "crusade" regardless anyways.

Drudge --> Rush pigboy --> Kagan --> CNN. Small world in the media, huh.

2. Only the truly ignorant and 'bushified' will believe their excuses. Anyone
with more than two functioning brain cells knows that this was a security failure of the most incredible proportions, caused because they were so fixated on the oil fields that no one even thought it worthwhile, or profitable, to guard the explosives being monitored by the IAEA. This act alone will go down in the history books as being on of the most ignorant military blunders of all time. It will be in the same chapter as 'Operation Enduring Freedom', the throwing flowers at the troops thing, and so many more. History will not be kind to bush* & Co.

If the human race survives much longer, future generations will just be amazed that any group of people as greedy, criminal, and evil ever were allowed to run this country. In fact it's sort of ironic that bush*s term 'evil doers' actually describes him and his bunch of marauding greed thugs better than anything else I can come up with.

3. All of this will, as usual, means squat to the electorate
We've seen the explosive reports come and go for over 3 years that expose this administration. We have seen Bush standing naked for the whole world to see and the American people "shrugged". They don't know. They don't listen. They don't care. Support our troops...don't change presidents in the middle of a war (a war that's going to last a few hundred years)because it will send a message to the terrorists....we will all die in our bed if Kerry is elected. I--am--a--Zombie. Program--me--. No news item is going to get through to the electorate at this late date. Not one vote will change. Now, if you can catch Bush with his dick in a sheep, mabye they will reconsider!!!

5. Yep. The GOP has managed once again to blur and negate the issue.
They've done enough to fuzz up the story and create confusion while the public goes back to sleep. Our side does simply doesn't understand the need to get in front of a story and and control the spin. Now it doesn't matter what the facts are, Bush will wriggle away once again.

7.  I think it's hilarious that the Bush Administration/CIA didn't
want to report the information regarding the missing explosives because they didn't want to tip off the Iraqi insurgents.

Tip them off how? They HAVE the damn things!

Krugmam is right. The only people from which the Bush Administration is trying to withhold information, is the American people.

8. Exactly

I only see CNN carrying this "report". Bottom line is that this falls right into everything else. Americans aren't blind, they have seen the total chaos in Iraq and the lack of comptenence from Bush. The damage has been done, and lets focus on GOTV!

It was mentioned in a front page story Chicago Tribune
Sorry, my wife loves the paper on teh train and she despises the Sun-Times.

They mentioned a Pentagon official is now asserting that the explosives were gone in April.

10. Terri O'Brien On WLS...Shuddup Already...
I got snookered into taking my kid to school and stumbled on this wench who went into a big jag about how many times CNNservative & MSNBC (not Faux) reported the story yesterday, as if "how dare the media do this now". That somehow this was all a set up by Kerry and maybe this was really the WMD and spin, spin, excuse, ridicule, blame the media, whine, whine, whine. Yawn...click!

Then I turn on that goon from C-SPAN and hear some moron blame everything has "changed since 9/11" as the blanket excuse for all of this regimes failures. Sorry, 9/11 was a tragic day, but that event didn't destroy stock values by manipulation on Wall Street, or rose energy prices that destroyed the economy or passed a big tax break for the rich that destroyed state budgets...and I haven't even gone into the foreign policy and security fiascos.

Looks like the GOOP circular firing squad is starting to form...ready to shoot at anything and everything to blame for what's about to happen rather than take responsibility and realize how they have been so deceived by their own greedy leaders.

12. Kerry is speaking strongly on it with Chris Matthews this morning- MSNBC
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 08:51 AM by wishlist
Obviously there are tons of unsecured explosives, not just this particular cache, that we did not find or safeguard appropriately that are being used against us by the insurgents.

Kerry was very effective this morning on MSNBC with Matthews regarding Bush's failure of responsibility in setting priorities as we went into Iraq resulting in the safeguarding the weapons material as a 2nd tier priority behind safeguarding the oil facilities and other buildings. MSNBC plans to run more of Kerry with Matthews during the day.

MSNBC just now at 9:45 made it clear that we didn't have enough troops locating and securing the large number of explosives.

13. The fact of this story is lying out there like a big turd. And as one of
supervisors used to say - "You can polish a turd all you want but in the end all you will have is a shiny turd." If the administration were not afraid of this story - why did they sit on it for at least 2 weeks (by their own account and we know how much that is worth)? They weren't worried about the insurgents finding out - the insurgents know already as they have the explosives - they were worried about the American people finding out one week before the election. Well too bad, schmucks.
