report your election-related stress ailments HERE!
for the past few days I've had stomache pains and- how do I put this delicately: Montezuma's Revenge without Montezuma. Maybe it's Chimpy's Revenge.

Seriously, anyone else experiencing any of the side effects of living and breathing this campaign and a Nov. 2nd victory for the last, oh, 3 1/2 years?

8. I got that a coupla weeks ago. I stepped away for a while
with the understanding that I would work my butt off this weekend, except for Saturday evening, when we celebrate his b-day.

He really threatened to leave, but I did detach a bit and felt much better for doing so.

Even now, the stress isn't ruining me like it was. Who knows how things will be as ED gets closer, though?

18. as ED gets closer
hey funny you my husbands name is ed. lol lol. took me a minute to figure that out. what ed meant.

i said last nite, changed as in you dont love me anymore. because, i would never want you to be stuck in a place where you no longer loved me. whatever, we would work it out just fine. i was in total peace.

no no he says, not that, just after election.

later i told him, last 6 months i have become more and more impressed with him and in love, because he has allowed me the time to be a retard with this election. (retard is an ok word for me, i am not talking about people with lower iq).

and he has taken care of himself. let me alone.

just one more week.

23. my husband has suffered in silence- so far
but I know I've been distant these days- I can't seem to help myself. Any moment I can spare between taking care of my 2-year old (like now) I am watching cable news or on the computer- usually DU. I keep telling myself that after Nov. 2nd, things will return to normal. But, quite frankly, things haven't been normal since Bush stole the election in 2000, followed by 9/ll then the hideous Iraq War, and so on. I probably will need an extended break from thinking about all the things that matter, after this election is over. Just for mental health.

5. Newly developed
obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Or it sure seems like it. I live on the Internet
and have turned into a wired-up hermit. I can't stay
away from DU or Air America. I live and breathe this
crap.

11. I have been really cranky
canvassing pressure, plus worry about the election, on top of general life concerns. I will be glad when the election is over and Kerry wins!

They are responsible for this!

Hey, we have a new catch-all scapegoat to add to the oil companies!

10. Sleepless nights
I wake up at midnight to feed my 11 month old and I am just so keyed up about the election that I'll turn on the TV and flip through the channels to see what they are saying. I haven't watched cable news channels other Lou Dobbs and TDS (fake news) in four years.

15. "Are you okay?" asked my husband
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 09:02 AM by Secmom4Kerry
LOL. He was looking at me as I was sitting at my computer, complaining about my headaches, tight neck muscles and shoulder pain. But he was asking because I was muttering angrily and incessantly about * and how I couldn't take four more years of this. And that was at 7 a.m., when I was supposed to be getting ready for work, and had rushed to my computer to read DU.

17. We spent last week in Mexico
and I alternated between feeling like I needed to get away from my computer/TV/DU for a week to anticipating my return home so I could get caught up with what's going on. And honestly, I did check into DU several times while I was supposedly checking my e-mails. But I'm home now, and on the alert! I'm anxious for Tuesday and the sweeeeet smell of victory!

19. Tendonitis and lack of sleep (even worse than usual)
Results of which has kept me from getting much done at work. Thank God it's been fairly slow in the office recently. Guess I can take another week of this shit, but if this goes into "extra innings" I might have to kill somebody. And if Junior wins/steals/cancels..... fuck, I can't even go there right now.

The scary part is they may not go away on November 3, depending on how many dirty tricks we endure.
