The civil unions issue. Wasn't it reported that the reason Bush gained 8% (IIRC) of the black vote over what he had in 2000 was because of gay marriage?
Don't let this die guys. We've got to get this story out there and point out that Kerry and Bush have the same position on gay marriage and civil unions - which is they oppose gay marriage but want to leave civil unions up to the states to decide. This could also be useful with soft Christian supporters and white blue collar southerners. The elimination of this as a wedge issue far outweighs the risk of swinging undecided moderates his way - which I feel is unlikely anyway since if they're undecided they're obviously not single issue voters (not to mention disgustingly apathetic). And blah to the Log Cabins.
