In Heidelburg Germany during his last summer as AG

11. the picture of Kerry is from his campaigning in schools
he was going through the school and would greet kids through the windows in the classrooms. there are a few others of him in different states doing the same thing so i guess it's a regular campaigning method of his.

but the comparison and similarity to the robert kennedy pic is just incredible. i'm keeping that one.

3. Wonder if that wasn't intentional?
Brilliant, if so -- it's a good setup for a photo, and not easy to get right because of the glass surface.

6. That's not a very famous picture of RFK, so I doubt it's a canned pose

9. Just wondering if some photographer might have seen the RFK
photo and thought, 'wow, this shot would be great -- it's like that one I saw of Kennedy.' I doubt it was canned/set up, but I'd imagine the photographer might have know.

If it wasn't a matter of 'stealing the moment' consciously, that's even cooler.

4. There's another one that reminded me of RFK.
Someone posted it here yesterday or the day before -- JK shown from below, silhouetted, dark background. I'm pretty sure there's a very similar photo of RFK from the day he was shot.

10. That's amazing!
and kind of spooky! If he's channeling RFK, he couldn't have picked a better man.

17. I saw a strange French-made Bobby Kennedy documentary
at the Chicago Film Festival a couple of weeks ago. It started out sounding like an anti-Kennedy film, talking about how mean and nasty Robert was when running his brother's campaign, and blamed him for election fraud leading to his brother's election. I felt like I was watching a Swift Boat Liars ad.

Then the movie changed because it said Bobby changed. He opened his heart and began caring about the poor and downtrodden and disinfranchised. By the time he ran for President he really, truly cared and wanted to make a difference. The filmmaker was there and said he made the movie because it was such a dramatic change in a person, and he deeply, seriously, admired that about Robert.

It was called "Bob Kennedy, the Man Who Wanted to Change America" directed by Patrick Jeudy, who last year made a documentary called "What Jackie Knew" (yes, that Jackie) which I haven't seen.

I only knew of the "good" Robert Kennedy, and didn't know what to believe about the "bad" Robert Kennedy, so I'm afraid I came off a little hostile in the Q&A session. He was surprised and seemed to think that the bad, early stuff was very well-known. I don't know. Considering how much of our history is better-known to Europeans than Americans (and how ignorant I am of that time), I wouldn't be surprised.

Anyone know some good, reliable resources documenting the "bad" Robert Kennedy and his change into the good man he was before his murder?
