Bill Schneider Is Apologizing For His Own Polls...
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 10:41 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
As a political scientist it's embarrassing for me to see a Harvard educated PHD do this...

He's basially saying the difference in the Gallup Poll and other polls is a function of their modeling and not an intentional bias...

10. But Schneider doesn't do the polling, so don't know why he's
apologizing.

2. Unlike Bush, mere mortals have to own up to mistakes. Luckily, nobody
is ever punished for a mistake that is in Bush's favor.

3. Actually, it's hopeful
It's still pretty rare for an academic to admit his mistakes in public.

I admire that trait. I wish that more people could cultivate it.

8. He's Not Admitting Anything...
He's spinning...

He's blaming it in the margin of error...

Why does the margin of error in the Gallup Poll consistently favor Bush?

The difference between the Gallup Poll and other polls is a function of Gallup's likely voter model which really belongs to antiquity...

13. Gallup (actually, it's his son) is a hard-ass Jeezer
He always spins toward the Right.

He claims his mission isn't to measure popular sentiment, but to spread the Gospel. How bearing false witness will accomplish that, I'm at a loss to explain.

Gallup is staying alive on the reputation the old man's name carries.

6. What's he saying?
That Gallup is full of it and he's sorry that CNN contracted with such an incompetent pollster and they'll never do it again?

11. He said "each poll is like taking a sample from a river"
The problem is that CNN/Gallup is taking its sample right at the sewer drain.

17. He Vouches For It...
If he was a man of integrity he would point out it's flaws and suffer the consequences...

There is always the possibility that their methodology is fine with him...

15. Not Intentional??? BULLSHIT!!!
Gallup is the enemy. They've been releasing these flawed polls at strategically important times for a few years now to prop up the Chimp when he needed it.

They are the enemy. Plain and simple.
