MSRNC reporting NOW 80,000 in Philly yesterday - huh???
There were over 100,000 people there - reported far and wide. But MSRNC has now decided it was only 80,000. And had to throw in, JK never had a crowd this big till WJC showed up. :eyes:

GOD, I hate this station!

::goes into the other room and clicks off::

:kick:

1. Well, there was a variety of estimates

Generally in the 80K-100K range.

I think saying it was about 80K is acceptable.
Saying it was "hundreds" NOT.

4. the only time to turn on MSRNC is
at 8pm Eastern, when Keith Olberman is on. Otherwise, go knit or something.

5. NYTimes is using the 80,000 number too
I am sick of arguing these things. Unless someone gets an arial view and hand counts it's not worth arguing.

6. I was there. A police captain I talked to thought 120,000 was about right
Then I came home and heard Peter Jennings say UP TO 30,000. No way could you mistake that crowd for 30,000. I got to the parkway a half hour before the gates opened--maybe that's where the underestimating Mr. Jennings got his number.

It was a great day!
