11. He also isn't happy with Iraq |
|
He still supports the invasion, but he thinks the administration has been very incompetent in its handling of the occupation. He was outspoken against Abu Ghraib, too few troops, the growing insurgency and everything else that has gone wrong over there.
So it's seems that there are two fatal flaws to Bush:
1) He made the wrong choice to go into Iraq and shouldn't be re-elected.
or
2) He made the right choice to go into Iraq but he screwed it up so much that he shouldn't be re-elected.
It really doesn't get simpler than that.

Some more sane neo-cons have gone with Kerry, as they did Clinton in 1992. I think for Sullivan, though, the gay issue was of great importance. I do think that he would have gone with Kerry regardless of that though.

10. Agreed (though he's not a US citizen, so there's no vote to get) |
|
I'm happier than not that he's endorsed Kerry, but it doesn't make me think any better of him.

So this isn't much of a surprise. Maybe, like Brock, he'll come to see that the Right Wing doesn't have his interests at heart.

A while back he suggested he would be forced to take a look at Kerry and the Democrats after Chimpie turned him off so much on social issues. I'll give him credit. All Bush offers is candy-coated shit.

20. What a craptacular endorsement... |
|
Essentially, he said that Chimpco was right to do what they did in Iraq, but now Kerry needs to come in and finish the job. And we don't have to worry about KERRY starting any wars, because Chimpy has fucked up this one so badly we don't the troops or the support to do anything.
Well, Sully, sounds like maybe the war was a freaking mistake in the first place.
His endorsement read like a clean-up list of chores that Kerry has to accomplish so that in 2008, another neo-con can be elected and do the whole Chimpco act over again.
Sully can take his endorsement and shove it up his ass.

...or maybe not, considering Andrew Sullivan is so influential it's not even sure he can influence Andrew Sullivan.

to stop supporting an administration comprised almost entirely of individuals who wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. Genius, I tell you. Sheer genius.
