I figured Bush out.... (Armchair Psychology)
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 12:37 PM by vetwife
Since he was obviously abused by his Mommie and fetching scotch on the rocks and Daddy (wimpy) and being gone and having his own love life,(not Babs) Baby Bush felt left out and turned to blowing up frogs and doing other destructive things to nature. He then needed to feel empowered. He thought drinking and drugging would make him forget his pain but his new wife with kids wanted a more settled life. Well he still had a lot to prove to Poppy and actually hates women thanks to Mommy.

He starts business and ruins them all. He then turns to politics and really wants Daddy's job when he is president as he is really confused and thinks God even though he wasn't really serious could bail him out and could if he were serious but he is still searching with his confused mind. He has major problems from a screwed up family, overbearing Mommy, wimpy Daddy and needs approval. He says he finds God and Jesus even though they weren't lost and he even lies about who led him to chrisitianity. (That is a fact). Now, he is full of anger and rage and could not handle any type of dicipline (exactly why he went AWOL).

He accepts no responsibility for any of his actions as in his eyes he is justified for everything he does no matter who it hurts as he is so dysfunctional. The reason he wants to turn the clock back to the 50's and 60's in this year of 2004? Because he missed his childhood ! He was too busy fetching drinks and missing Daddy and resenting Mommy. He is emotionally no older than 16. The neocons know this and jump on his messed up bandwagon. the people who agree with him are emotional adolescents themselves and hunting for a time of their childhood, where they could feel safe or be in control.
You can't just wake up at 40 after being a drunk and boozer, loser, and addict and be emotionally grown up to lead a country. It can't be done. Life gives one experience and one is to learn from it and to honor mistakes and be accountable but have you ever met a teenager that really thought they were wrong?

How did I do? Does this sum up old George and why he wants to turn back the clock and destroy the rest of us and not account for his screwups. He needs HELP ! He also needs to be out of that oval office !
THIS IS ONE UNCONTROLLABLE YOUTH AND WE NEED TO TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK.................AND

2. Personally, I think he's posessed by the devil
Seriously, I think you offer a good possible analysis. You know the guy has got to have some serious issues to do what he has done in his life as a public servant. He has acted neither publicly or servile.

6. Good job
It's his Oedipal torment that is the only interesting thing about him -- otherwise he is a vacuous fratboy bore.

His Oedipal torment fueled his alcohol abuse. He transferred his rage towards his parents to the defenceless, so he could act the part of the cruel and controlling too, rather than just be thevictim of it.

His Oedipal torment was transfered from alcohol to fanatical Christianity -- substituting one obsession with another, which is NOT full recovery and is a highly unstable state....

His base (aka "wackos") rightly congratulate him for his choice to end his alcohol use, however, they make it seem like miraculously he became another person, infallible and wise, after having spent 40 years as an asshole. The point you made is an important one:

>>You can't just wake up at 40 after being a drunk and boozer, loser, and addict and be emotionally grown up to lead a country. It can't be done. Life gives one experience and one is to learn from it and to honor mistakes and be accountable but have you ever met a teenager that really thought they were wrong? <<

Here's a guy who started "studying" for his dynastically inevitable presidency back in 1998 -- 6 years ago, for crying out loud! He did not attend university for his studies, but instead partook of the counsel of a few select tutors, namely Wolfowitz, Perle, and Rice. He feel there is no need to learn more than he already "knows." He simply does not have the knowledge to give real critical review to the policies he is considering -- and every day we see the consequences of his "certainitude."

From what I have observed, on a number of levels, I believe that he is unstable mentally.

The only achievement of Poppy's he had to still do in order to "kill" Poppy and win Barbara's heart forever would be to win (re?)election. As he stares the very real possibility of defeat in the face -- which he must be doing at least on some level -- he must be undergoing a serious Oedipal crisis.

It's going to be a long fall and winter, but if we fail next Tuesday in caging the Texas Prairie Monkey -- it's going to be a wrenching descent into darkness.
