Clear Channel Speculation on the Day After
I was listening to KTRH 740 this morning in Houston. A "news story" reported that it is unlikely that an announcement of a "clear winner" in the presidential campaign will come on November 3.

But what if it's a landslide for the Dems? Will Clear Channel be able to get the words out: "Kerry whipped our boy's ass?" I doubt it seriously. Lowry Mays will just cry and won't be able to blame the Dixie Chicks this time.

The RW will use their programmed response for all things - the will blame the "liberal media" for doing them in... (gag)

2. Used to like this station when it first started. It was all news,
independent and innovative. I had it locked on my radio even when I lived in Austin. Too bad, it has gone bad. I used to depend on it for "news".

5. Clear Channel
is now clear evidence of what horrors deregulation brings upon a democratic society. If something is not done to break up that kind of growing monopoly, (and others) then we are in big trouble.

I am not saying don't listen to CC stations, but I don't see how passivity in regards to their ownership strategy and dominance is going to accomplish anything. The impact on information, music, and such is alarming.

Michael Powell is all for applying the same kind of deregulation to other media. That's not acceptable. Who does he work for?

One voice? One truth? One media? That spells the end of Democracy.

6. If it's a Kerry landslide I'm wondering whether we'll see
blackouts on a number of "news" outlets, like Faux.
