Have you heard the new song "I'm Taking My Country Back?"
I know I'm new around here but please trust me on this one. I heard this song yesterday on NPR in a story about conservatives thinking that they own country music. I guarantee you've never heard a song quite like this. It's been put out by "Honky Tonkers for Truth" and it is a hard core country song with a SCATHING critique of the Bush Administration. At the website it said that there are several music professionals in Nashville that have gotten sick and tired of being told that they MUST be Republican in order to be in country music. The song is so patriotic and so Anti-Bush. It's totally awesome. It won't be released for sale until after the election, but they encourage you to download the song and call your local country radio stations over the next week and request it. It is specific about Bush, mentioning his botching of Iraq, lies about WMDs, outsourcing of jobs and so much more and it is also musically a GREAT country song. Even if you've never liked country music, give this one a try, it really is the truth. The website is takinmycountryback.com Let me know what you guys think of this and PLEASE request this great song at your radio station!

6. I don't know anyone on here

This is sunnybrook. I have no personal promotional interest in this song. I am a volunteer for the Kerry Campaign in St. Louis and I'm personally fired up about this type of song coming out of the country tradition. I should mention that I'm a musician and enjoy several types of music and was brought up on country music, but I have never been able to stomach the narrow minded, sexist, racist, backwards mentality that often accompanies this genre. I was so moved by this song that I went to the mall today to try and buy it but I found out that it hasn't been released yet. There is no hidden agenda here, just thought you all would appreciate this positive song.

2. Its very cool.
I have listened to it a few times already . In fact it gets air play on our local college public radio station, ( KUT 90.5 FM ) .
I know it made me feel batter when I heard it last Sunday for the first time.

3. I've always enjoyed country music
The older the better ... it's historical, uniquely American, and ties many of our people together. For example, you can clearly hear the black influence in much country music, you can also hear the rural white farmers, the pioneers, all of them together created this music. I'll have to give this song a listen ...
