Could Bush Victory via some blatant cheating spur Succesionist...
movements in Strong Blue states
esp since the Northeast are solidly Blue
and the West Coast to.

Just curious if this has crossed anybody else's mind.
I mean it wouldn't be with out some merit if it seems some obvious chicanery is involved in Bush getting re-elected.

3. Say hello Agent Mike.
:hi:

Just a gentle reminder. Talk may be cheap but it can be dangerous too.

4. I don't think so
I don't see it happening, it's just not what we would do, I think. We'd rail and scream and fight, but I don't think secession would even be considered a serious option for any state.

I have to admit, though, that the specter of another civil war is mighty scary.

problem is...both those places have oil. Altho i suppose if they take them and then trash them what are they gonna do? better than having them start goofy ineffective wars with the rest of us.

Actually...no i like Alaska better. If they went to Texas they'd still be touching us.

8. Could a Kerry victory spur a secessionist movement in the South?

I wouldn't be surprised.

11. This is precisely the sort of bullshit post that Pigboy and Hannity
like to cherry-pick responses to in order to portray DU as a den of America-haters. Happily, it ain't working out that way. Maybe after you have a few more posts, more folks will be fooled.

13. Only Free Repulsives want to secede if they lose
We know the Union is strong when it stands together. Though if they all want to go to Texas and leave, I won't cry about it.

14. Two things:
1) Kerry will not lose. Even with trickery at this point. The momentum building behind him is huge, and we supporters are vigilantly propelling it onward.

2) Blue states do not secede. Red states secede. They are the ones with no grip on reality, no understanding of war, no understanding of opposing values, and no regard for America as a whole.

That said, there will be no secession.

16. Secession has crossed my mind,
I must admit. I know of numerous people planning to move to Canada or europe if bush steals another election. I don't plan to move because I'd rather stay here and continue fighting the nazi bastards and bitches - that's a lot more fun to me than running away. But I understand that not everyone on this side is so competitive and that eventually you tire of putting up a fight and just want to go somewhere and relax. Or your protest becomes moving altogether.

Still, I sometimes think why should WE have to move? Why not separate the country in two and have a competition? Then we'll see in practical terms who can create the better country, their side or our side. I mean, do you think they will just give in and stop going after Democrats when Kerry wins? We will continue to be bitterly divided. At some point, a separation is more healthy - it's that way in marriages and relationships.

I'm just thinking it'd be a great experiment. But I doubt it will ever happen.

17. May be a good idea to create two admins but one defense
then we can compete fiscally and socially but be protected
by one strong military.
