Missouri folks -- What's Up?
Anyone out there in Missouri? I keep hearing about OH, FL, PA, WI, etc., but haven't heard much about Missouri since the second debate. I know that Kerry/Edwards pulled most of their ads, but we've got to still have a chance there -- don't we? My biggest fear is that it will turn into this year's Ohio.

1. Bush/Cheney have pulled their ads too
It seems that both campaigns are giving up on MO as being solidly behind Bush.

I'm not sure if that's true, but I haven't really seen any polls that contradict it.

I still see way more B/C signs in the St. Louis area than I'd like.

Also, after the debacle of the passing of the 'We hate gays amendment' in August, I have little faith in my fellow Missourians.

2. I wouldn't be surprised if MO went to Bush...
The GOP has got the rural voters fired up, a lot of conservative Christians too, but it's still possible for a large Dem turnout in the urban areas to counteract the rural vote.

My wife and I are going out this weekend to put K/E door hangers on people's doors.

I'm still seeing Bush ads on TV here. I think the Kerry campaign realized an organized ground force would do more than spending a ton of money on TV ads.

3. Missouri is not out of the picture
I think there may be overconfidence on the part of RW. The major point is that we have to GOTV. There are thousands of new voters who are identified Kerry supporters. I was surprised when both campaigns pulled ads and visits (although I too am seeing Bush Ad still, him "holding Ashley") because the Oct. 3 poll had Kerry within 2 pts., within the MOE. More recent polls have not been quite that close. There is a very motivated organization here and it all comes down to GOTV. We are going to rock St. Louis!

4. Between St. Louis and KC I don't see why we can't do it
They really need it though that's for sure.
