Kerry at 50 in WP poll tells you about the wind --

... it's mercifully at his back and has been mercilessly taken out of the B/C sails.

5. I dopn't know if this is bad or good then.
The results might be skewed, but which way?

Do they favor the challenger (* in 2000, Kerry in '04)?
Or the Republican (giving * a better number than he deserves)?

6. I think
the bottom line is that an incumbent should have 8-10 point lead and he doesn't. This election is heavily influenced by world events and right now, the news coming from overseas is not good. They are hoping that people will get cold feet in the booth and pull the lever for the "DEVIL YOU KNOW" verses the one they do not know.

better" than Kerry in Mondays sample. Saturday and Sunday had been 2 of Kerry's best ever days in their poll. So tomorrow I think Kerry's # is going to drop a little. But hopefully Kerry will do "bit better" than Bush today to balance it out.

"That's the same as Monday's tracking result. The race tightened slightly from last week because Saturday and Sunday were two of Kerry's three best days since this tracking poll began Oct. 1; Monday, though, was a bit better for Bush. Tracking polls average results across days to build a reliable sample"
