"Christians should be alarmed by Bush" Pittsburgh, PA/ Op-Ed
:thumbsup: This guy gets it...and there are thousands more out there just like him.

John Bugay from Republicans for Kerry:

"...Clinton's untruth brought scorn and derision only upon himself. But Bush's untruth plunged this nation into an unnecessary war, killing thousands of innocents and costing all of us the good will of people and governments around the world. Who will ever trust this president again? The Bush administration is so far from deserving our trust this year that one conservative, writing for the Web site LewRockwell.com, calls this administration "The Truth Killers." President Bush kills the truth either because he misunderstands it, or because he deliberately misleads."

1. We ARE! I won't question his faith itself, but I surely question the way
he acts based on it. And I am sickened by things I hear from the likes of Foulwell, beaming as he pontificates, "Bomb 'em in the name of the Lord."
What could be more horrific???? :puke: :mad: :puke: :mad::puke: :mad::puke: :mad::puke: :mad::puke: :mad::puke: :mad::puke: :mad::puke: :mad::puke: :mad:

2. I question his faith
I really doubt he has any at all.

It may not hold, but I think any true Christian is liberal as far as government is concerned. I'd rather have people following the laws of God because they choose to, not because they've been forced.

JC was liberal. End of story.

3. I agree with you...
I think Bush is just using his "faith" to gain the Evangelical Christian vote. How often does he go to church? He says that he reads the bible every day but when asked what he read about he can't answer (I really think he can't read).

I can't figure out why the evangelical Christians like him. The only issues they are interested in are gays and abortion. Do they think he is going to do anything about either? He has been in office for 4 years surrounded by repugs and he hasn't outlawed abortion yet.

I just don't understand.

4. jesus, in fact, was a hippie!
absolutely. While I'm no longer a Christian, most it's obvious that Jesus' teachings are generally way more liberal: turn the other cheek, do not judge others for their sins, making wine at parties, feeding the poor and hungry, giving away all posessions to those who need it.

Of course, Jesus also got pissed off once in a while (cf: his actions at the temple with moneychangers) but then again...he was only human :)

In the words of Arnold J. Rimmer: " was a hippie. He had long hair and he didn't have a job! What more do you want?"
