Good morning america. He is flip flopping. Anyone have a transcript of this ? Bush just screwed up! It was the gay marriage stance.

15. I think it's more likely to be a ROVE last ditch attempt
- I don't think W. cares what Laura thinks - not if it went against ROVE.

13. There are ONE MILLION gay Republican votes.
Rove thought they could sacrifice the Log Cabin Republicans in order to go after the bigger evangelical Christian PRIZE, but now Bush needs every vote he can get, EVEN STEAL!

Yes. He is getting desperate
There is no reason to alienate your base at a time you need them most.
Rove must have told him to say this.

Gergen's litany (he was big on Clinton's return as well) was music to my ears.

9. Bush is taking a dive
He must know the news about Iraq and the economy is so bad he is cutting loose his base to ensure Kerry wins.

It wouldn't be the first time Bush ran away from a tough job...he is not up to the task of fixing his screw ups.

12. His seriousness isn't an issue. This demonstrates that they their polls
are showing hemorrhaging toward Kerry among suburban women--losses so serious they justify angering the base.

11. Read the Constitutional amendment Bush UNEQUIVOCALLY and repeatedly
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 04:39 PM by Passport
backed. It CLEARLY bans gay marriage AS WELL AS ALL CIVIL UNIONS. If the Republicannibal platform is wrong, then Bush has been wrong many, many times when he endorsed the amendment to shore up his base. Bush has flip flopped BIG TIME, and it's on one of those issues that he talks to God about so how could that be?

20. He knows exactly what he supports -- whatever KKKarl says.
Sometimes he goes a little off message when he doesn't have that hump in his back to keep all the voices in his head in line.

19. Now if he backs down on his strict anti-abortion stance
the only reason some people (who listen to FOX or whoever) will have to vote for him will be Teresa Heinz Kerry.

22. The Republican platform was written for Bush
his people oversaw the process...

their internal polls have them worried...

did Rove just figure out Fundies do not make up over 50% of voters?
