If Kerry does indeed win by two or more percent he will definitely win some of the Battleground States that are hotly contested...
The Electoral College usually but not always follows the pop vote and the larger the pop vote margin the larger the Electoral College margin...
The last time the popular vote and the Electoral College diverged by more than a percent or so was in the disputed Tilden-Hayes election of 1876...
