If the people reelect this asshole, they should get what they deserve. |
|
With all the f--k ups that this guy has had in four years, if the people of this country put him back in, they should get whatever this guy does as a lame duck. There is no way that this election should even be close but somehow it is. What in the hell are these people thinking anyway?

8. I understand your anger, but I need to point out |
|
that Bush LOST the election in 2000, it was stolen from "the people" by Florida Republicans assisted by the SCOTUS.
I've caught myself saying things similar to what you've posted, but just keep in mind, with it pretty much 50/50, half the country will suffer for the boneheadedness of the other half. Not to mention the further damage to the global environment, etc.

9. They say that everyone gets the government that they deserve |

Unfortunately, those of us who vote against Bush would also get him and I don't feel that I deserve him.

Most people, IMHO, aren't as stupid as the polls would seem to suggest. If everyone registered to vote actually did vote, Democrats would win every election in a landslide. We also have a propaganda media that supresses the truth at all costs to protect the Republican candidate. Many people don't have the resources or time to do their own independent research like we do here on DU.

11. People deserve critical thinking and a truly independent press |
|
Most * voters believe facts that are objectively untrue, and are voting against their own wellness. This is a problem of education and critical thinking more than anything else.

13. It's mostly about religion. |
|
Until a majority of people in this country accept reason over faith, we're going to have a hard time electing pro-choice candidates, or candidates who want to wage foreign policy on facts instead of faith.

14. There's a question for a think tank! |
|
In my 56+ years on this planet I've never been so puzzled about anything more than the question "Why do people support Bush".
To me, a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker or yard sign cries out "Hey, look at me, I'm a moron!" I simply don't get it!
I had a brief exchange today with a Bush-nut today that was aghast to hear that I supported Kerry. She couldn't seem to fathom how I could do that. I assured her that the feeling was mutual from my end. Stalemate. Join us next week.

16. The American people can be flakes, but... |
|
They do show amazing brilliance at times, often when it counts most.
Remember the Clinton "scandal"? During the heigh of MonicaGate, Clinton had a 70% approval rating and left office after 8 years with a slightly higher AR.
I feel confident in the final days of the election that many of these people will change their minds when they get in there, and undecideds will break for Kerry - hell most pollsters (even GOP pollsters) say undecideds are overwhelmingly breaking for Kerry these last few days.
