on NBC just now. That 90% of all eligible voters in Iowa are now registered to vote ?!?!? Was that right?

voters in Minnesota are now registered. (On my car radio, on the way home from work.) For as long as I can remember (Minnesota born and bred that I am), I've been hearing that Minnesota has ALWAYS had the highest percentage of eligible voters who actually vote in all national elections. And our neighbor to the south, Iowa has never been far behind. So, this doesn't seem out of line to me at all.
The midwestern states have historically been strongholds of civic consciousness in the U.S. My hope is that we not only remain so, but that other states catch up. ;-)
