William Frazer loved to talk politics when he was with friends for drinks or dinner. He could tell a list of jokes at President Bush's expense. And he regularly forwarded political e-mails to his relatives.

So when the 59-year-old business consultant from Woodridge died of brain cancer on July 25, about three months before the presidential election, his family decided to give Frazer a vote, if only a vote of influence.

In Frazer's paid death notice July 29 in the Tribune, friends and relatives were asked to donate their money to a handful of charities--including the John Kerry campaign.
