A secret document obtained from inside Bush campaign headquarters in Florida suggests a plan - possibly in violation of US law - to disrupt voting in the state's African-American voting districts, a BBC Newsnight investigation reveals.

Election supervisor Ion Sancho believes some voters are being intimidated
Two e-mails, prepared for the executive director of the Bush campaign in Florida and the campaign's national research director in Washington DC, contain a 15-page so-called "caging list".

It lists 1,886 names and addresses of voters in predominantly black and traditionally Democrat areas of Jacksonville, Florida.

An elections supervisor in Tallahassee, when shown the list, told Newsnight: "The only possible reason why they would keep such a thing is to challenge voters on election day."

7. Keep up election fraud awareness

Be prepared to raise pure hell if we have another repeat, I know Kerry won't go down without a serious fight; I suggest we all do the same, we all know now that its not over till its over. This time I'm seeing some chatter that the fraud will take place in California, its easy Kerry territory however that only serves to take eyes of the biggest prize. Look for Red terror alert on Nov. 2 on west coast, it will be a bluff, but will surely cause serious voter disruption for at least a day. We've never had red for a reason, got to keep it prime for last chance. (Go to the polls early if you can, if not then go in morning on Nov. 2, avoid rush hour, and remember Bush gains when you are afraid.)

So Willie Steen, who's example has been published in Vanity Fair, and probably elsewhere, was still listed as a felon on their rolls. It was just because of Palast's cameras that he was allowed to vote.

I loved the elections official who's stepdaughter's registration had been fraudulently changed to Repuke. He was great!

But I'll kick the thread for sure. I downloaded all those files yesterday and looked at the 'caging' ones. Had no clue as to what they were for, but the fact that it was all focused on Florida -- had me going 'uh oh.' Glad to see someone figured out what it was and that something is being done.

I was listening to Greg Palast on the way in this morning on Air America Radio. He was talking about how this is the lead story in every major media outlet throughout Europe, but it’s not even mentioned in America. He also said that the Repugs warned the BBC that if Palast showed up to report in Florida that the BBC would never get access to a repug again.

The idea is to challenge a few and back up the voting lines for hours so that nobody can vote in these areas. Palast also stated that the reason that many of the mailings were returned because the recipients are serving in Iraq.
