Tom Brokaw Exposes Drudge and White House as Filthy Liars
Brokaw came out on the nightly news and took issue with Drudge's mischaracterization of NBC News last night supposedly debunking the NY Times story. Brokaw specifically mentioned that the Bush WH used the NBC Report improperly to defend the President (just as Joe Lockhart wrote last night).

Brokaw states that the explosives disappeared some time between March and May - an eight week window, and that neither of the US units who showed up at AL Qa Qaaaa in April were instructed to look for the explosives and did not undertake organized searches. Their mission, instead, was to get to Baghdad.

Think Drudge will publicize what NBC Nightly News said tonight - a report which utterly destroyed his credibility? Don't count on it.

2. No, I doubt he will.
I am sure he will drown his sorrows by trying to buy some "chicken" or the privilage of performing oral favors upon skid row bums.

4. They are all backing way off and simply trying to save face now.
You can just sense the demoralized tone in their argumentation now. The gloating is way gone. Even Shammity has resorted to "we don't if they were there and when they went missing". "What about these weapons? I thought Saddam was not a threat." "Doesn't this provide evidence that the wmds were moved too?"

9. No
He mentioned that the White House used the NBC report improperly to fallaciously defend its position. I doubt Brokaw would ever stoop to mention Sludge.

6. This should be the number one story just behind the election.
It proves all of John Kerry's talking points about Bush's failure of judgment and inability to protect American citizens.

Instead there is major coverage how John Kerry referred to someones daughter, and if Laura Bush had a real job.

10. Is Drudge trying to discredit all the network news?
Is that his angle? Will there be an ABC story soon?

14. It's sad that unless * attacks him or his work personally, he doesn't "get
it." A lot of people and institutions have been under attack by this administration and the media has shirked its responsibility to call them on it.

13. And if Brokaw need a backup source, here it is:
From WaPo...

"The Bush campaign pushed reporters to look into an NBC News report that the network had been embedded with troops who searched the site three weeks into the war but never found the powerful explosives that are now missing, suggesting they were already gone."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A60413-20...

Hm, the only ones pushing the embedded reporter story were Drudge (surprise) and the Bush WH (surprise, surprise.)

Ooh, they are getting sloppy.
