Another Reason to Boot Shrub |
|
I had a long talk with an electrician today at work in Boardman, OH. He told me that the OSHA inspectors working big job sites (Like Walmart Distribution Centers) are totally ineffective. Their staff has been cut to 12 inspectors for the entire State of Ohio. They never make surprise visits anymore, with up to two week warnings to the contractors before showing up onsite. He reported a safety violation to them and they told him he had to jump through a bunch of hoops to make his claim. Well, they did accept it, but there was nothing done to the General Contractor and the fix was a joke. He says it is not safe on the job site like it was in the old days, pre-shrub, pre-repug control. Lets get these morons out of the OSHA and try to get back to a safer work site. Just another way to f@*k the little guy.

last year he told that me where he lives, northern CT, they have the same problem. His next door neighbor is an OSHA inspector/investigator and he is so swamped with just investigations he rarely has time for inspections.Had some horrifying stories to tell. And they wonder why evil trial lawyers are running rampant in CT.
