I was lucky enough to see our future president John Kerry today in Las Vegas. The crowd had to be over 10 thousand. Very loud yet respectful (can you say that about a Bush crowd?). Everyone was very patient as we waited for the man.
Sheryl Crow played about 5 songs to warm up the crowd, then the usual array of speakers including James Hoffa (there was a huge union presence). John Cusack was supposed to be there, but that did not happen.
Kerry arrived to a huge ovation about 40 minutes after his campaign plane flew over the park. He hit all the hot topics, but was especially hard on the missing explosives and the Iraq mess. As mentioned in earlier posts tonight, Kerry seemed very at ease and confident, as though he knows he will win this.
I immediately took a roll of film to be developed (I'd post them, but my free account at villagephotos will only handle very small files and I'm too cheap right now to splurge for an account). The woman behind the counter was ecstatic when she saw my pictures. She asked me if I thought Kerry could win. I said YES.
And he will...

3. Today on the BBC (shortwave) they had a quote, very similar... |
|
(sic) "Leaders who cannot answer the people's dreams, can only offer them fear."
Or something like that.........
