Roughly 5.9 million voters were recorded in Florida in the 2000 election. The impact of Broward County's failure to satisfy absentee ballot requests could be enormous.

This is serious folks. The Democratic Party and the Kerry Campaign need to go into court first thing in the morning and seek immediate relief for this massive violation of voting rights. Broward County should be ordered to (1) re-send all of the absentee ballots (since it has neither the time nor the manpower to determine who received ballots and who didn't) by OVERNIGHT MAIL and (2) accept any absentee ballot that has been postmarked on or before election day. That is, in my view, the only adequate remedy under the circumstances.

1. Broward County Supervisor of Election is none other than Brenda Snipes.
Handpicked (appointed) by Jeb Bush to run the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office following the dethroning of Miriam Oliphant to her elected Supervisor of Elections post.

Brenda House Servant Snipes was appointed to "correct" the problems that the so called, by various press members, "incompetent Miriam Oliphant" could not correct.

Well, well, well ... Miriam Oliphant may have not been so "incompetent after all". House Servant Snipes may just be following Jeb Bush's marching orders. Where are those members of the press like Michael Putney (WPLG Channel 10), Scott Wyman (Sun-Sentinel) and Michael Mayo (Sun-Sentinel) who campaigned against Miriam Oliphant's ... why aren't they campaigning against House Servant Snipes?

2. They are re-sending via overnight mail only out of town and by request
I've read several article in South Florida papers. A certified mess. People calling about the missing absentee ballots can't even get through because phone lines are perpetually jammed. Broward County has more voters than Miami-Dade, but less than half the number of phone lines in its election department.

Many out of town college students are reporting they have not received the absentee ballots but haven't even been able to contact the Broward County elections department.

As indicated in my subject line, only Broward residents who are currently out of town will be sent new absentee ballots, in overnight mail but only by request. Residents of Broward who are there now are apparently expected to vote via conventional means, early or on November 2.

the joint efforts of the Sun-Sentinel and WPLG's Michael Putney.
Jeb Bush installed house servant Brenda Snipes under the pretense that she would run a better, smoother, problem freer elections ...
that is a cackle. She is no better than Oliphant. The problems taking place under her supervision are a repeat of the 2000 elections. She is serving at the house of the Master. She is a Republican dressed in Democrat's garb.

You might like to read this buzzflash editorial, a link to which i posted yesterday, but post again here today in case you'd like to read it.
