Denver Post Taken to Task for Endorsing Shrub
A statement I read on another forum sums it up nicely..."He's a worthless POS, but we endorse him anyway."

Here's the Post's endorsement from Sunday:

The Denver Post heard from over 700 readers critical of their endorsement for Dubya, zero number of readers in favor.

Here's a sample:

"Congratulations to The Post for its outstanding spoof, the send-up on newspaper endorsements in Sunday's paper. What a brilliant idea, spending nearly an entire page listing the failures of George W. Bush, building a strong case for denying him a second term, then delivering the hilarious punch line, endorsing him for re-election. In serious and troubling times, such comic relief is a pleasant respite."

1. 700 and all of them disagree. I'd say they are in trouble.

4. I wrote one of those 700 letters
As a Post subscriber, I couldn't believe it. It was the most illogical editorial I've ever read at the Post. They list all his failings and then limply endorse him based on his "decisiveness." They also post a "to do" list of things he must do in his second term, none of which Bush would ever do (bring more moderates into his Cabinet, task Powell and General Zinni with developing an Iraq rebuilding strategy????).

It clearly read like the publisher Singleton who is a Texan and big Bush supporter, ordered them to do it.
