ABC World News Now this AM
This new pretty-boy host is bringing out the worst in Tamala Edwards, who was a decent foil for Muir, before HE left a few weeks ago.

The new guy just said that the Election was unfortunately eclipsing the Scott Petersen case. what a shame - the news cycle dominated by the election (finally) of the leader of the free world trumps a murder trial of a sociopath who was so stupid that he placed himself at the scene of the crime when he could've just kept his mouth shut.

The point here is that now that Kerry's surging, they're finding all kinds of trash stories to keep America occupied during this critical few days. It was almost laughable that right after they said that Kerry was leading (!) albeit only by a point (!) in the ABC tracking poss(that means he's on the move way ahead), they alluded to the fact that tabloid trash was more interesting and engaging.

Even at 3 AM, the spin goes on.

1. The new guy is a Mimbo (to coin a phrase from Seinfeld)
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 03:21 AM by Was_Immer
Hes a complete MORON

Probably a republican, if only for his lack of intelligence

2. He's got that vacant look
If I weren't in my 50's I'd swear this guy beat me up in Jr. high School.

He was real nervous the first few days but now, he's overbearing and she is submissive to him. This is the worst combo they've had yet. Some were really great like Aaron Brown and Thalia Assuras, others just OK, but they're gonna have to do somethign here because this guy's just not good enough for the intellectual overnight crowd. we're the folks who can't sleep due to overstimulation of our brains.

Two ads you always hear on radio in the wee hrs.: Bankruptcy protection and toothache cures/dentists.

4. Yes but shit,
that was supposed to be a lock. Can you imagine losing this thing because of Hawaii? That's almost worse than Gore losing TN.

5. Yeah... PC...
The mentioned on there they were "racing people to what they thought was a safe bet --- Hawaii"

Oh well.... At least they have them enroute on Wedneday, instead of realizing their screw-up next Tuesday! :o

8. I still think it's a safe bet
I can't imagine a shift from last time, when Gore outdrew this - whatever he is - by what 16 points or something, to a draw or worse. Obviously, they have some progressive people there who aren't gonna wake up one morning and see a shining city on a hill from this guy.

13. We took for granted what should never be taken for granted.
A minority vote.

Someone was here the other night explaining Hawaiian rage at their schools, and how the first improvement anyone had seen in god knows how long was No Child Left Behind.

We have Republicans in major NY offices because the Dems dropped the ball on education. We got cozy and corrupt and deserved to lose. Kerry doesn't deserve to lose.....but he may pay for Democrats assuming nothing much in Hawaii was good enough.

18. It's not that bad...
I have only today seen my first * sign, and dozens of Kerry signs in my neighborhood.
I will say that our "organizer" for the Kerry campaign from the primaries till just a bit ago was the worst you could imagine.
Didn't want us giving bumper stickers out, etc. So completely over his head, though well intentioned bless his heart.
(sigh)

9. Annita... I dunno....
Sounds like Hawaii just got ticked off that they were being left out....

The Kerry Kommando's are enroute though... I have no clue who they're sending? But they're heading to the islands ;)

10. There must be more to this than that...
I have a few friends there - they tell me that they're used to being left out of the lower 48 stuff and they prefer that - that's why they're THERE. I'm old enough to remember the show "Hawaiian Eye" with Robert Conrad and Anthony Eiseley(sp?) and it sure looked good even back in the 50's - as a kid I wanted to move there to escape the NE Corridor's all-but-certain nuclear devastation when the Russkies bombed us. My Dad pointed out that Pearl Harbor wa there so I'd get hit anyway. I think I cried...my Mom got mad at my Dad a big fight ensued.

That's why this bothers me!

11. Sending precious resources to Hawaii of all places 7 days out
from the election does not exactly soothe my nerves.

20. I agree, they must have done their own polling which agreed - or -
I do think it might be the scoffed upon "r n r."

Let Hawaii know that Dems take them seriously, and let some campaigners who deserve it go on a working vaction for a day or two, then bust ass back to OH, WI, FL, or IA. Probably Wisconsin. There's more than enough security moms up there.

Or, this could just be unsubstantiated reports.

Go figure.

15. So I guess the polls were right
if we weren't in trouble they wouldn't be taking people off the battleground states to send over there.
