Karl Roves coming dirty trick |
|
Today or tomorrow would be my guess as to when Karl Rove unleashes his nastiest piece of political genocide. The news and the momentum are not in his favor lately and he has to change the subject pretty fast. Any guesses?
It might be a good idea to stay ahead of this obligatory Rove tactic. If people are waiting for it, it will tend to disgust them regardless of what it is. IMHO

5. Karl tends to work more like Bin Laden |
|
It will be something completely different, and terrifyingly affective. I'd like to hear some chatter in the 24/7 news about this. It would be great to stay out in front of it.

7. They will start talking about 9/ll. Make appeals in the name of the dead. |
|
That's all they have. 9/ll. And if we could get The Seven Minutes on TV, or the 9/ll widows, this could be effectively challenged. Bush is going to go for the heartstrings. He's going to make a pity appeal.
THEY ARE SO DESPERATE!!!!

8. Rove's efforts will focus on AFTER we vote |
|
and Kerry wins. We must understand the need to fight him IN THE COURTS of the battleground states. He wants to overturn enough states to get the EV count down to 269 each, because he thinks if he does the election will then go to the House, which at present has more repukes. Rove has overturned legitimate elections before and fools himself into thinking he won't get caught.
So forewarned is forearmed. That's why the DNC has teams of lawyers pouring into everyone of the swing states.
What could we charge Rove with? I'm happily visualizing his chubby sweating miserable mug over the top of an orange jumpsuit as he chops weeds at a Federal pen somewhere in Alabama, while National Enquirer paparazzi blind him 24/7 with popping flashbulbs.

10. If Rove has anything left it will happen by Friday |
|
So he can get the full talk through the weekend into Monday. This week has been a complete disaster for shrub, one story after another from people on the inside wanting this nitwit out of office.
If Rove has nothing left this would be a complete shock to me. No one in Kerry's campaign can let their guard down against these corrupt bastards. shrub, Rove and Cheney know all to well the full investigations that are going to follow once Kerry is in. From what's out in the open already we are talking treason of the highest order and war crimes. What better motivation to stop at nothing short of voter fraud or a last minute stunt to try and win an election?

11. Rove's Being OutRoved... |
|
His game is to control the news cycle...tell CNNservative and Faux and the hate radio shows what to say and how to present things..."Kerry's a Flip-Flopper", "Kerry's beating up on Repugnican Gays", "Kerry's a liberal trial lawyer"...and so on. It's getting the louded spin out that outshouts the truth and either people believe the Rove lie or are so confused they tune out or don't believe either side...either way the Democrats usually lose.
That was then, this is now and looking at the past couple weeks, Rove's not able to pull the levers as easy as he once did and it's getting harder to get that spin out and to stick. Doesn't help that his candidate has all but self-destructed during the past couple months and now they're starting to see this election slip away.
Right now, Rove's got his hands full fighting the "news cycle" he used to use so effectively. The news from Iraq, bad economic news, blowing off the 9/11 Commission, Flu Shots and Bunnypants opening his trap with stupid statements are dominating things now...Rove will be lucky to keep this from getting worse over the last week.
While we should stay at the highest of alerts for any dirty trick that will come down the pike, I think it's too late in the game for anything short of a sudden attack to completely push any or all of those other issues off the front pages or push the 5% or more that this regime will need just to get back into the race.

12. Releasing US oil reserves |
|
to lower gas prices.
There was some headline today about OPEC telling the US to release the reserves. That provides cover for the Misadministration to do it.
We at DU were speculating about the oil price thing as an October Surprise months ago. And here it comes.

14. Rove's "Trick" is taking place behind the scene's... |
|
In the form of voter intimidation, disenfranchisement, and distortions of John Kerry's record. If Bush wins this he made his own bed, and no democrat will give him an inch of respect after what he has said about John Kerry. I supported him after 9/11, that will not happen again.

too many people have seen the wizard behind the curtain for him to be as effective as he once was. Hell, somebody even made a movie about him.
The most effective "invisible persuaders" have to BE invisible or they stop being so persuasive. Right now, IMHO, the main effect this guy has on the campaign is our constant worrying about him.
We can't yet sing "ding, dong, the witch is dead" but I think the bell is beginning to toll, and it tolls for him.

18. I think it will be a sneaky, under the radar attack |
|
It'll be very targeted to inflame his base in battlegrounds. We here on DU may not catch on to it immediately. Classic Rove tactic is anonymous, middle-of-the-night leafletting. Everyone keep your eyes and ears open. Point your web cams and security cameras to your front porch and yard. Take pictures of strange people and cars making frequent stops. String freeper traps (low lying chains)!!

20. Rove operatives will try to steal the election in close states, |
|
just as they did in Florida in 2000. This year's potential states include Florida (again), Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada... Close elections in these and possibly other close states will result in recounts and court challenges. We can be sure that Rove and Company will go down fighting, if they do go down. Unless Kerry wins in a landslide, there will be no concession speech from Bush.
