13. How's it BS, if foxnews backs it up with the story listed below ?
The people responsible for the Madrid train bombing want the Bush administration to continue.

Al Qaeda wants to portray the "war on terror" as a a "war on Islam" and the "war in Iraq" especially the inept way it has been waged and the fact we are still there is giving them the best recruitment they have had in years.

23. Check these out dude.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,114489,00.html

The statement tells American voters that Abu Hafs al-Masri supports the re-election campaign of President Bush: "We are very keen that Bush does not lose the upcoming elections."

The statement said Abu Hafs al-Masri needs what it called Bush's "idiocy and religious fanaticism" because they would "wake up" the Islamic world.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/s1068257.htm

The statement said it supported US President George W Bush in his re-election campaign and would prefer him to win in November rather than the Democratic candidate John Kerry, as it was not possible to find a leader "more foolish than you , who deals with matters by force rather than with wisdom".

In comments addressed to Mr Bush, the group said "Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embellish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as civilisation".

"Because of this we desire you to be elected."

The group is named after Muhammed Atef, also known as Abu Hafs, a close bin Laden aide killed in the US-led war in Afghanistan.

http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_15-4-2004_pg3_4

As we approach November, Bin Laden and his associates will increase the frequency and intensity of their attacks to ensure that George W Bush Wins. Al Qaeda will be determined to make security a bigger issue than economy

Most recently we have seen two examples of Al Qaeda’s political acumen. Their attack in Spain was so well timed that it swung the elections in favour of the anti-war socialist party.

The second instance of Al Qaeda’s political smarts is the recent incessant attacks against soft targets in Iraq and on American troops to underscore the absence of security and stability in Iraq. It probably prevented President George W Bush from having another ‘top gun’ electoral campaign moment on the anniversary of the Iraq invasion.

These attacks have sent the message to the world that America’s invasion of Iraq has increased terrorism not decreased it. Instead of making the world a safer place, America has now endangered its allies as the attacks on Spain and Turkey suggest.

3. America needs to know that Al Queda likes Bush
"The most pro-Bush, he said, are the foreign extremists. "They prefer Bush, because he's a provocative figure, and the more they can push people to the extreme, the better for their case."

6. Well, of course they do.
Without Bush declaring a crusade on Islam, they'll have a hell of a harder time drumming up recruits for their Jihad. Despite the terrorist attacks against us in the 90s there was widespread support for the US in the muslim world. We were seen as honest brokers of peace in the middle-east and were militarily engaged in protecting muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo.

Its hard to convince people that a nation which is defending you is actually the Great Satan.

Al-Qaeda needs Bush as much as Bush needs Al-Qaeda.

12. Holy Cow. Read this excerpt from Fox News !
"The statement tells American voters that Abu Hafs al-Masri supports the re-election campaign of President Bush: "We are very keen that Bush does not lose the upcoming elections."

The statement said Abu Hafs al-Masri needs what it called Bush's "idiocy and religious fanaticism" because they would "wake up" the Islamic world."

One religious fanatic deserves another and unfortunately the rest of the world is caught in the middle !

15. I think this is the accurate quote
that has spread around the net. Seems to be backed up by news articles (I posted in this thread).

"It is not possible to find a leader more foolish than Bush, who deals with matters by force rather than by wisdom. Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embelish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as a civilization. Because of this we desire Bush to be elected." - 3/17/04

they are. W will hunt them where they aren't and that's where they love him !

Another indication of the mess of Iraq:
Cheney blasted that CIA briefer this morning ! Anyone got the link ?

18. More than that
They know his black and white views of the world tout Christians versus Muslims and even the non-extremists will take up arms to defend their religious ways of life.

Al-Qaeda knows this and that's why they love Bush. His imperialistic wars for no reason on Arab soil, and attacks on innocent civilians have revitalized the movement to a point where Al-Qaeda's recruitment numbers are immeasurable. One might think that they rival or surpass the recruitment numbers our military is getting right now with how well they are doing.

Bush pushes his one sided world view and pushes aside allies and the opinions of the people we're supposed to be helping and terrorist groups take up the cause to remove the great evil on their land.

Kerry will present a calmer, softer face to our efforts. He will deliberate how to handle the psych war without intensifying anger towards us. He will take religion out of it and present it as a humanitarian effort and win back their trust.

They know this and fear this. If Kerry were to succeed, anger against Americans would calm. The recruitment and volunteering to eliminate us would dwindle because we would not seem as if we want their oil or their land, but rather we truly want to help them.

Al-Qaeda NEEDS Bush to be successful. That's why they endorse him.

26. Not to mention the fact, he has largely left them alone in Pakistan and
Afghanistan allowing them to rebuild. Wasn't there a report in August that the terrorist boot camps had reopened and we expected Pakistan to shut them down ?

In Addition, Bush has only spent 35 million on Homeland Security. While spending 225 million for the mess in Iraq.

14. More links, more of the endorsement of Bush
ABC News:
http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/s1068257.htm

Yahoo News:
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/040317/325/eotq9.html

IN ADDITION TO THIS...

Please read this Op-Ed by Dr. Muqtedar Khan of the Brookings Institute. In it he outlines exactly WHY Al-Qaeda would want Bush to win over Kerry and explains the foreign policy differences that would make Kerry a better choice to fight Terror.

17. Al Qaeda wants to portray our efforts against Al Qaeda as a war on Islam.
If you all recall, right after 9/11, Al Qaeda was trying to portray our efforts as a War on Islam. Why ? Because they wanted more people to flock to their effort in establishing an Islamic kingdom in the Middle East like the Ottoman Empire. As the leader of this call to arms, Al Qaeda would benefit and have their revered shiekh, Osama Bin Laden sit on top of that thrown.

I'm guessing that Fox would be playing that endorsement every hour on the hour... not more than a peep from them on their endorsement of Bush, however.

29. We are shooting at wooden ducks (or using weak antibiotics.)
It is no surprise to me.

I believe it is true because * is doing their work for them.

The goal of terrorists is to scare. The * administration is doing that.
The goal is to eat away at our democracy. The * administration is doing that also. etc. etc.

Bush supporters don't understand that al-Qaeda does not work in a conventional way. They think winning against them is like digging away at a hill. Once you have dug enough, it is gone.

It is more like a shooting gallery. We keep on shooting the wooden ducks down, but they return popped up again (except, in bigger numbers.) The only difference is that in a shooting gallery, you gain points. In this war we are only gaining body count.

Maybe a better analogy is that this war is like administering an antibiotic in weak doses so that the organism evolves into a stronger one. Oh, uh, that's right. Some people don't believe in evolution.
