Putsch Regains Lead in Virginia
"Poll finds Bush ahead in Hampton Roads, state
Virginians favor President Bush over Sen. John Kerry, but state Democrats say the race remains competitive...

...Of those polled, Bush received 50 percent of the Virginia vote and Kerry took 44 percent. Only 5 percent of Virginians remain undecided in the race, which is a statistical dead heat nationally. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points..."

So much for the endorsement by the Hampton Roads newspaper.

2. I'm in Hampton Roads
and I'm a volunteer. This is so depressing to hear. I mean I suspected that we did not have a very good shot when they put the paid workers elsewhere. However, we kept plugging along. I thought things might be changing because the amt of visible Kerry support I have been noticeing lately. I was totally depressed after seeing all the Bushies at the State Fair and Suffolk Peanut Festival but things were starting to look up. Oh well...Hope the Mason Dixon poll is wrong but I fear it is not..........

7. Why are you buying a loss with a 5 point poll?
In 1991 Gov Jim Florio had a 12 point lead over Christie Whitman 5 days before the election. 5 points is nothing and if you look at the margin of error it may well be tied.

Keep fighting with your chin up.

10. Bush is soo dead in VA
I've been doing visibility events this week in Northern VA, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. This morning about 5 bushies gave me the finger, 300 or so folks gave me thumbs up ( wasn't really counting), six or seven big trucks blasted their air-horns for us, and there were hundred of smiles. From folks going to work at the Pentagon, young hispanics, all kinds of women, and a suprising array of white men. I mean, the pro-kerry forces were multi-ethnic, multi-aged, and multi-wealth.

50% "might" say they would vote for bush when somebody on the phone asks them, but we've got the energy and enthusiasm. The original poster to the contrary notwithstandng.

Bush is sooooo gone.

14. Where are you?
I'm in Vienna (Fairfax County). LOTS of Kerry/Edwards signs in my neighborhood as well. Could the Old Dominion finally be waking up?
