My LTTE published: Vote "R" to keep going in reverse
It’s been said that if you know how to shift the gears of a car you’ll know whether to vote Republican or Democratic this election. Basically, if you want to continue going in reverse, cast your ballot for “R;” if you want to go forward, choose “D.”

The Republicans under George Bush have driven America backward over the past four years at a pace that’s careening out of control. Domestically, they’ve reduced a $5 trillion budget surplus to a $4 trillion deficit; since Bush took office, 5 million Americans have lost their health insurance (1.7 of them military veterans), leaving 45 million citizens unable to afford basic healthcare; 1 million jobs have been lost and millions of Americans, many of them women and children, have slid below the poverty line. Republican foreign policy hardly fares any better. Bush’s lies about Iraq have left America isolated and discredited among our allies. Our over-extended military is now bogged down in a chaotic, hostile country where over 1,100 American troops have been killed and over 8,000 wounded; who knows how many Iraqi civilians have been killed. Rather than contributing to our efforts to increase national security and stop terrorism, Bush’s reckless rush to invade Iraq has left our nation weaker while inflaming anti-American passions around the world.

This Election Day if you want to move forward again as a country shift gears and vote “D” for Democratic. Let’s take away the keys from an administration that is obviously DWI: Driving While Incompetent.

2. Thanks.
I think it's little disjointed in terms of tranistion, but there's only so much I could do and remain within the 250-word limit.

:hi:

6. Local newspaper
The Star Democrat in Easton, MD...don't let the title fool you though. The paper is endorsing Bush and generally leans right; however, to their credit, the paper is fairly even handed in its coverage, including Letters to the Editor.
