I'M EMBARRASSED....don't more than 75 DUers want to thank Senator Kerry ??
I started a thread titled "Do we have John Kerry's back...THEN LET'S SHOW HIM!!!!!

Seventy five of us have written short notes of gratitude thanking him for all he has endured in personal attacks, character assassinations, and how proud we are to let him know our affection for him. And how great of a president we know he will be.

There was a thread yesterday thanking Brad Pitt. There were approximately 50 thank you's written for him.

Am I to believe fifty want to thank Brad Pitt and only 75 of us want to be included
in the group to express support and love for JOHN KERRY himself?

If so, I'm going to forward the messages we have.

I know the threads move down very quickly and some of you may not have known about it. I will only bring the thread back if you were unaware of it if you would like to be included. If you'd like me to, let me know here, and I will. Otherwise I'm forwarding the 75 we have so he can see them and know how much we're behind him in these final days.

Also if someone has the best email address to forward this to him, so he receives it quickly, please post it here.

To illustrate an actual message:

45.
Dear Senator Kerry,

I am a young woman, 19 years old. For as long as I can remember, I have been taught about how great this country is. I have been told all my life how grateful I should be for my freedom. I have been taught all my life to be proud of my country's government.

Within the last couple of years, Reality came crashing down, and I was forced to acknowledge that... maybe that's not how it really is. George Bush has broken my heart, our nation has broken my spirit.

Senator Kerry, you are my only hope- and the only chance I have at regaining the pride I have had for America since I was a little girl.

Senator Kerry, you are this nation's only hope at regaining credibility with the rest of the world, and becoming the great country we used to be.

Thank you for showing me, and countless other new, young voters, that we still have something to be proud of.

7. That's a good idea.
I had thought maybe it would be best to send them all on one thread. But that may be a good idea.

I had just wanted it too be a long list that would touch John Kerry as much as he has touched us.

I never saw your thread. What time did you post it? Many of us go to bed early. We aren't all 19, ya know?

It was a very nice thought and thread and had I known about it, I would have contributed.

6. Dude, there are so many posts, and I for one always click on the latest
feature, so I never saw your post, though I was on for most of the day yesterday.

I've been working my a$$ off defending John Kerry and I will continue to do so.

That book of lies by the Swift Boat Liars, I've shot that thing full of more holes than anyone I know.

I bought the god dang peice of crap, read it through, found all the discrepancies, wrote in the margins and then passed it on !

John Kerry inspires me. I would walk through a wall for John Kerry !

9. I wasn't on board this morning, here's mine - please include
Dear Senator Kerry,

I want to thank you for running for President. When I was a child my beloved older brother left the family business and was drafted into Vietnam. We had no idea why our precious Charlie had to risk his life half way around the world, but he wasn't the type of person to break the law and he went. Fortunately he came home to us.

He and his wife just finished a family visit with me. He has grown children now and has lived in Florida for nearly 30 years, in a very heavily Republican area. Whenever his co-workers start in about your war record, you have one very passionate defender there! My brother is not actively interested in politics, but I know that the day you are elected he will feel vindicated for hating that war when he returned.

Thank you for your public service, then as now.

Sincerely,

Demnan

15. Some of us don't want to jinx Kerry
I know it sounds superstitious, adolescent, and silly, but well, that's how I feel right now. If Kerry wins, then I'll be thanking him, you, Skinner, Michael Moore, Howard Dean, and even the nuts on Freak Republic for scaring many formerly complacent dems into action. But for now, I'm going to hold my tongue and hope that the good guys win this one.

$100 to the DNC for Kerry, and $50 to a GOTV effort.

No time to thank him in your thread yet, but I will. Thanks for doing this.

21. I will thank him in 2006/2008
I am not going to go into everything here, because I don't want to start a bru-ha-ha before the election; however, I don't want to thank Kerry for his campaign, but instead for his actions as president in 2006/2008

I only decided to vote for Kerry very recently. It's not that I don't believe in progressive ideals. I was a rabid Howard Dean supporter and my fiance and I were actually the very first online donators to his campaign (She got to introduce him at a rally in Los Angeles because of this.. well, actually she introduced Sheen who in turn introduced Dean, but that is another story of Hollywood egos).

There were two things that sealed the deal for me voting for Kerry. First, was a personal promise from Michael Moore after an LA event. My biggest concern was that those of us who were being asked to vote for Kerry as an ABB choice were just feeding the beast and would forget to hold his feet to the fire once he is president. Moore promised me that he will watch and pursue him, if necessary, with the same vigor that he did with Bush.

Second, was the debates. Bush is so evil and clueless that he has to go no matter what AND much of what Kerry said sounded so incredibly familiar that I was forced to think of the other candidate I wanted to be there. I was glad to see his positions solidify in this manner.

Assuming Kerry does what he says he will do, I am absolutely going to thank him with a huge donation to the democrats in 2006 and to his campaign in 2008; however, I do not want to lose site of the reason I became involved in the first place, nor do I want to become complacent once Kerry is elected and believe me, based on the rumbling I hear from my friends who tend to vote Republican, I have NO DOUBT that he will be.

Once Kerry is in office, we can't spend TOO much time patting ourselves on the back. We need to stay vigilent or we may find that we won the battle, but lost the war.

Get off the internet and get busy. Quit trying to shame folks for not wasting time on pointless circle jerks and get ye down to the local Dem HQ and help out.

Ugh.
