Can you feel it happening? |
|
I think it is. I can feel it. The media, local papers, individual voters. . . they are all turning to Kerry. Especially those that had, until now, been weakly supporting George W. Bush. They'd been holding the gun to their own heads for months, maybe years now. But with such little time left, with Election Day just a week away, they're starting to realize that they can't pull the trigger. They're starting to realize that they've been just. . . not right in the head.
It's what we've been hearing about as afterthoughts and concessionary comments for months. "Well, in the end, most undecided voters favor the challenger." It is happening. Everyone who hasn't wanted to think about the election, hasn't wanted to deal with politics. . . everyone who thought they could live in a bubble clear on through to December is waking up and wondering what in the hell has been going through their heads. In short. . .
KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE.

2. you must live in one of them thar yankee states |
|
Just this morning someone at work breathlessly brought me a full color brochure with a picture of a little kid on one side that says "little Timmy is about to meet his new parents"
And when you flip it over it's a couple of happy looking guys rolling around in a bed (clothes on).
<Gasp!!!.> Homasheckshils everwar.
Fortunately for the health of the person who brought it to me, he is a "moderate" fundamentalist (whatever that is), but was offended by the brochure.
Nah - here in Texas, land of hair that could survive atmospheric re-entry and thick lipped hummer driving republican bastards, the diehards will actually pull the trigger, with a smile on their face.
Not depressed about it though - I think the rest of the country is looking up.

6. Apparently not everything is bigger in texas. |
|
Perhaps some of the minds are actually quite narrow. But Texas was, well. . . shit, I'd expect Kerry to pick up all other 49 states before Texas. ;) But perhaps it brings some hope to you that here, "on the outside", things ARE looking up.

7. Hunter Thompson has Kerry by 5 points; Sullivan and Hitchens now pro-Kerry |
|
When I saw the Hitchens endorsement, I finally started to let myself believe: Kerry landslide.
Now all we need is Dennis Miller.
