I just heard that on Inside Politics. For Kerry. I've never heard of nuns phone banking, any other Catholics?
(putting aside religion in politics, this threw me for a loop)

1. It seems improbable... |

...but if the sisters are from one of the orders that do a lot of one-on-one social service work, like the Sisters of Mercy or the Sisters of Charity, it wouldn't surprise me. The few nuns I know are absolutely appalled by Bush's War on the Poor, and are vocal on the topic.

4. They are phone banking |

I wasn't questioning it, I was expressing surprise. Because I'd never heard of nuns getting that involved in an election before. Was wondering if any other Catholics had. If we've got nuns working for us where they never have been involved before, that can be huge for the Catholic vote.

They have political opinions.
BTW, there a number of nuns who work with my liberal employer on prisoner's rights issues. They're not all conservatives.

Like I said, I've just never heard of nuns getting directly involved in a presidential campaign before.
