1. Isn't Baylor U (way conservative Baptist U) in Waco?
If so, they are probably going ballistic.

3. Yes, Baylor is in Waco
The administration of Waco is very conservative; the actual faculty and student body less so.

4. Baylor is in Waco and their private security guards...
...troll local bars looking for Baylor students, earning them the unaffectionate nickname "The Baptist Police" among the youthful drinking class.

2. Endorsements
Check out all the newspaper/media endorsements of John Kerry, including many who endorsed Bush in 2000.

I wish ALL the major Texas papers!

The Dallas Morning News (the Dallas Repuke News) endorsed bush with an article that listed everything he has screwed up and basically said "but we endorse him anyway."

The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram endorsed bush by listing all of his screw-ups, admitting they were bad, then (are you ready for this?) said they are endorsing the bush they THOUGHT THEY WERE GETTING IN 2000!!!!

OMG, Crappiest. Endorsements. Ever.

But they still go in bush's column, sorry. My area sucks, apparently.

So the Austin American-Statesman endorsed Kerry? Good freaking deal. They endorsed bush in 2000 and probably thought if they did it again, the good people of Austin would fucking burn their offices down.

On edit, nevermind, I read your post wrong. DAMMIT what the hell is WRONG with the Austin American-Statesman???? Idiots. All their writers must live in freaking Round Rock.

7. Did I not say that right. I meant all the major papers including Dallas,
Houston, SA, etc had endorsed *bush. I was really, really upset at the Austin American Statesman. What a weird thing to do. I am SURE that Travis county will go Dem and I am pretty sure that Harris county will either be 50/50 or slightly Kerry. We will see. But the Waco paper really floored me.

11. It's so strange to have bush's hometown
newspaper know well enough to endores Kerry and now Waco but a progressive town like Austin endorse bush.

Guess who's going to look like they know what they're talking about when all the votes are tallied?

15. Sure enough is. What a strange world we live in when the most
"liberal" town in Texas has an editorial endorsing *bush and the most conservative(and that is saying a LOT)comes out for Kerry.

a paper. The funny thing is that I was at a fund raiser last year, sitting across from repukes and they were raving about how liberal the paper was. I strongly, but politely, disagreeded. Maybe now they will see that the paper is theirs for the taking.
