Why are the bloggers ignoring the latest Broward County disaster? |
|
In a state as critical as Florida, that Bush "carried" by only 537 in 2000, you'd think that 58,000 missing absentee ballots in heavily Democratic Broward County would be a big deal. But Josh Marshall hasn't uttered a peep. Neither has Atrios. Perhaps it's been mentioned in one of the Daily Kos open threads, but it hasn't gotten its own thread yet.
Am I overreacting? I look at what's going on in Broward County and I see an elections office that is completely unprepared to deal not only with the current problem with absentee ballots, but the problems that are almost certain to arise on elections day. I think it's almost certain that the absentee ballot snafu will end up shaving a few thounsand votes from Kerry's total.
But I hear nothing but SILENCE from the bloggers, the Kerry campaign and the Florida Democratic Party. If it were for a few digilent local news organizations, we wouldn't even know about this.

1. I could swear I've seen this mentioned on one of the major blogs |
|
I forget which one.
This is definitely a major f***-up.
