Telephone calls by political parties, candidates' workers irritating
people. I have seen several LTTEs in the paper about people getting calls (usually from Bush*ers) and people do not like it. A few said they would vote against Bush just for this reason. I hope we don't make these calls.

1. of course we make those calls, and I don't
believe it will"cost" votes. I have gotten many, most of them canned.

2. We do..................
just to registered Democratic voters though. Actually we call them 3 times. Once around Primary time, once about 2 weeks ago to see if anyone needs a ride to the polls etc. and once the night before the election. At least that's how it works here.

3. Got a call from NRA last night! Told them what I thought!!!!
I didn't wait to argue. When I asked who's calling and she said rep from the NRA, I said, fine, I have a life time membership but pay no attention to you folks anymore because I disagree with your attitudes! Then I hung up. Actually feel sorry for the poor caller. She probably has no afiliation with the NRA and is just doing this for the $$, but too bad, she's the one I had on the phone!

4. Is this best we can come up with? No Political calls yet, but with
telemarketers, I say, oh hold on the pans boiled over or some other excuse, and put the phone down and walk away. The about 15 or 20 minutes later I return and go " Who is this?" then do the same stuff all over. My records is keeping someone on the line for 35 minutes. Do it to the chimpy supporters.

5. I don't mind if it's a real person
It's the recorded ones that drive me crazy especially because there is usually a delay after I pick up which leaves me screaming into the phone....Hello, Hello, Helllllloooooo.

You would think I would know better by now but nope...Happened three times already this morning.

8. I've actually gotten one Bush call.
It was a recording I believe. It was on my voice mail. The man speaking had a very southern accent. He was talking about how Kerry is weak on terrorism and a flip flopper, as I remember. I just got this message on Sunday. I get lots of calls from the Democratic party, but I'm also a registered Democrat. I've gotten at least three calls so far in which they've asked me if I've received my absentee ballot, which I did about two weeks ago. I've also gotten some calls about Betty Castor, from both Betty Castor and Bob Graham. Then I got a call from Bob Graham informing me how I can get an absentee ballot, as well as one on the same topic from the Democratic party. It seems like most of the phone calls I have been getting in the last two weeks have been about voting.

My husband is registered as in independent, so he doesn't get many calls at all. Actually, that Bush call was most likely meant for him. He's gotten one call from the CTA (as he is a member) about absentee voting and about which candidates the CTA is endorsing, all Democrats of course.
