Are you a likely Gallup voter? (Take this online test to find out) |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-27-04 03:56 PM by batchdem04
http://www.usatoday.com/news/graphics/electionquiz/flash.htm(Seems to only work in IE) It says I wasn't (scored a 5), even though I am registered. What does it say for you guys?

What a big JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!! |

They are ENTIRELY missing the wave of new voters. Makes no sense whatsoever... if anybody here was paying any attention to Gallup LV polls... well, this will convince them not to.

4. It says I'm not likely, even though I gave the last question a 10 |
|
Simply because I don't know where my polling station is. As if it won't be easy enough to find out.

But I've never been polled by Gallup, so I suppose it's a moot point.

 but I scored a seven and I'm a "definite" voter! So it seems to work for me.

I'm not likely! I'm new to the area, so I'm not sure about the voting location. Even THOUGH I chose that I 'thought a lot about the election', and planned to vote, etc. I'm still NOT likely! ha, ha. I VOTED LAST WEEK!!

14. That's pretty revealing! |
|
If you are a first-time voter who's very interested in this election but don't know where to vote and answer "Seldom" on how often you vote (because how does a first-time voter answer that question, anyway?) then you only score a "4" and your opinion doesn't count in their "likely voter" polls!

45. Received a 5 - already voted |
|
I know first time voters are less likely, but if someone is registered, knows where there polling place is, answers "quite a lot" for how much they've thought about the election, and rates themselves a "10" for "definately will vote" I think they should be thought of as likely voters. But what do I know, I'm not a likely voter, and I've already voted.

20. For all of you getting high scores |
|
If this is your first time voting, you get at most a 5 = NOT likely voter. Even if you know where your precint is, and you give a 10 in the last question, you get a 5. So they're missing all the newly registered voters.

If you've never voted in your precinct or don't yet know where it is, you're not counted. New registers. My god, this isn't accurate at all. Stupid Gallup.

"not among those likely to go to the polls on election day"
funny, since I already voted. :)
(I'm new to the area, and I responded as I would have before today - I didn't know where my polling place was until this morning, had never voted in this precinct before and only vote part of the time.)

I'm a bit pissed though that USA Today evidently didn't test their Flash detection thing on Mozilla. That's as bad as MSNBC's site requiring IE to view video clips. :eyes:

I've lived in the same house for more than ten years. We've raised kids here and so we know the neighbors.
I know of one person who wrote a LTTE stating that she was a "loyal Gallup voter who would ensure that shrub is reelected."
She's a known wing-nut in our town who writes rabid, vicious LTTE all the time. Real law-and-order jerk.

NOBODY but those who would vote in school board elections would score above a 6.
I tried it.
And "6's" are weighted- just because you're a 6 doesn't mean you're a likely voter according to Gallup.
