George Snuffleupagus: The GOP goal was just to muddy the issue
Last night on Nightline they reported about the explosives. I looked on the ABC site, but no transcripts available. Anybody see it? They closed the segment with George asking his guest whether or not the GOP spinmeisters managed to deflate the Explosives story...

The real goal, he pointed out, was simply to raise so many questions that it would muddy the waters, so voters didn't know what to think.

Yup. Don't actually adress the issue. After seeing Crossfire today, I can see they seem to have achieved their goal. They're saying that "no one knows" what happened, or when the explosives went missing. Over and over again..."we have to investigate," "no one is sure," etc, etc. NEVER do they come right out and deny the problem, or claim Kerry is wrong. They just issue half-a-dozen contradictory stories, and outright lies, in the hopes that the voter will be so confused that it can't be an issue. This isn't MY paranoid spin on it...they said so themselves last night, right on the teevee.

Never before have the American people been held in such utter contempt as the GOP holds us now. I am so totally, totally disgusted with the GOP, that if Jesus himself came down from on high and declared his candidacy, if he was GOP, I couldn't vote for him. They simply have NO scruples whatsoever.

when they didn't want to be.

3. you just got my very first ROTFLMAO ever!
George Snuffleupagus! That is so great! I mean, people here are very good with nicknames but that's the best. Now, was that a puppet on a kid's show when I was little? Refresh my baby boomer memory, can you?

8. Aloysius Snuffalupagus from Sesame Street

Snuffleupagus - A large shaggy brown elephant-like creature that debuted in 1971 on the children's program SESAME STREET/PBS/1969+. For many years adults on Sesame Street believed that Aloysius Snuffleupagus was the imaginary friend of Big Bird. In 1985, however, Snuffleupagus was seen by everybody for the first time. Snuffleupagus also had a sister named Alice who debuted in 1987.

Sorry - I can't get any picture to load!

4. That should be our line of attack....They don't know...Why not?
They were told in advance of the location of the site and the contents and it was rated a top priority by inspectors. Why doesn't the Administration know anything about it? Ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law.

5. funny---I just answered on another post thread about Crossfire today
and said the same conclusion you came to about how these people hold the people of this country in contempt. They scream lies at the top of their lungs and try to cloud the issues. They feel they owe neither truth nor actions to the people of this country. They are on their own Nazi quest and fuck all that gets in their way. And the stupid people smile their hapless smiles and wave their stupid flags...........

6. Don't worry
"If Jesus himself came down from on high and declared his candidacy"

it wouldn't be GOP.

7. Next logical question
So the shit's gone. However it happened, for the muddy water people. Why doesn't the CiC KNOW? We've only been over there for 19 months. They just didn't notice? Didn't check this stuff? They're truly oblivious to 40 trucks of explosives buzzing across the desert? That's a GOOD excuse??? They shouldn't even need to investigate, they ought to KNOW NOW.

12. you are correct, sandnsea
there's really no good way for the necons to spin this little issue in their favor. If your defense is WE JUST DON'T KNOW well, that speaks volumes, doesn't it?

11. It's the exact same tactic EVERY time
It's what they do with ALL the stories that go against them. Turn it into he-said/she-said. Which is exactly how the media hairdos like it, as they well know. And so the GOP plays them, and so they love to be played, and around and around it goes.

Every. Single. Time.
