I heard on Amy Goodman tonght Bush is planning to pull out
of another treaty. He is planning to pull out of the one that bans weapons in space. If this is true (I think it was a Stae Dept leak she was reporting) Kerry should raise holy hell about it.

8. I think this plan appears in the PNAC papers. One of thier critical agenda
items. The Dems should let it rip and post the papers and their plan around the Internet and on flyers to hand out this week-end.

5. here is the story
http://www.govexec.com/dailyfed/1004/102504bd1.htm

A veteran space program observer who recently represented the Bush campaign in a policy debate said the president is considering whether to continue U.S. participation in an international treaty banning nuclear weapons in space.

Frank Sietzen, co-author of New Moon Rising (Apogee Books, July 2004), about the development of the Bush space exploration initiative, told a Washington gathering Oct. 14 that "the administration is reviewing whether or not we want to be signatory" to the 1967 United Nations Treaty on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

6. Rummy and General Myers have had wet dreams about weaponizing space
for years. It was widely surmised by many that Myers' support for weaponizing space was why he was chosen to be head of the Joint Chiefs. It would be easy to convince Bush that the sun is a WMD.

7. Yes, he should
on one hand I think this is just a massive pork project for the weapons' industry to waste tax dollars on a boondoggle....and that's the optimistic view.

If he does militarize space, :scared:

Too bad for this country and planet Bush Sr. didn't pull out of Barbara 50+ years ago.

11. I wonder if this is related to the Mission to Mars
Remember the wacky plan to go to mars, the one we never heard about again? I wonder if that was attempted cover for this weaponization program.
